Eliminate Friend messaging

DeletedUser31206

Elaine, what messages do you want to be able to send to all your Friends?
I send group friend messages for 3 different things. 1) If I need help with unfair or on rare occasions with fair trades that my guild can't help me with
2) If a quest requires that I collect a certain amount of silver and I am thinking of calling it a night but still lack a little bit.
3) Active friends check for like I said while others might find it easier to do it another way I find it the easiest way in figuring out who to keep and who to let go.

I would unfriend you for any of those messages, definitely for all of them.

You assume that everyone who plays this game is in their right mind.

I even think the 'active friends checks' are too much spam. Do your own friends list maintenance, why do I have to help you with it? I'm already mopoing, I shouldn't have to risk being unfriended anyway just because I didn't respond to a blast-o-gram in time.

I have to agree with the others about this one. Every time I get one of these I am tempted to unfriend the sender. About half the time I do. I also like to attack/plunder and/or level GBs of neighbors who send mass messages.

Thanks, How often do you send these out?

I don't recall ever getting any of these kinds of messages. Ever. Nor indeed any "all friends" or "all neighborhood" group messages. I don't even know how to send such messages, other than adding the names one by one manually.

I send (and often receive) group messages to my guild, but never to my friend list or neighborhood.

If you don't want friends to be able to ask each other for help, then one of us doesn't know what the word "friend" means.

I am the mass - messaging king !!!

Though i only mass-message hoodies and its a good kind of spam ... i let people know when and where they can make free fps off of various GBs in the hood (its almost always on a building i already sniped and im looking to hasten the reward coming back my way)

I also message everyone in my hood individually at the outset explaining how things work when im around but i might start doing it in a mass message instead

Ill get less fps but ill be able to attack more hoodrats which is more fun, More points, and more profitable ... it would be a win-win-win-win-win !

I'm guessing you're in a pretty advanced age? Try starting a city in bronze age and advance it slowly through the early ages. You will get many wonderful messages from people desiring your assistance with their great buildings. Sometimes they will need assistance with trading instead. Each time they of course have to create an entire new thread, inviting all of their neighbors and friends into it. Some people left the old thread so they can't use that one.

Other people will instead make use of the old thread, posting their trades and great buildings in it. Nevermind that half the people can't interact with them, because they're just a friend's friend or neighbor. Some of the people can and this way you don't have to create your own thread. You can just keep posting in (multiple) threads created by others instead.

The app allows you to easily send messages to your friendslist, neighborhood or guild. The new players do know how to use it, as well as how to attach trades and GBs. They are quite good at it.

I actually sent out a mass neighborhood message on one of my diamond farms the other day. I had a lvl9 zeus self leveled a little over 90% of the way. People seemed very appreciative of gaining the fp profits. It' rare, but sometimes it is worthwhile.

Up it a level a start a new city in a new world. Then you get messages from people trying to exploit high GBs (and Observatories). "Come get your prints" and people flock to it. I laugh at the idiots doing it with Arcs. Good luck getting past level 10, buddy!

Never sent a mass message, received a few. They dont bother me. Just like junk snail mail, I ignore it, delete it, no sweat. Hard to get spooled up over a simple message, IMO. :)

Yes, but I don't see what that has to do with anything. A mass-message can be sent to someone in Oceanic Future as easily as to someone in the Stone Age.

I've already done that. Twice. Starting from the Stone Age, actually. (Is it even possible to start in the Bronze Age?) And I really haven't gotten many such messages. Nor sent any.

I know how to attack trades and GBs, but I don't see any "Send to All Friends" or "Send to All Neighbors" buttons. I also know how to delete a message thread I'm not interested in.

-----

When I first saw this thread, I assumed the spam messages being referred to were commercial messages having nothing to do with the game. Advertizing porn websites, cheap prescription drugs from Canada, specials on airline tickets, make $$$ from home, tell us your opinions on politics, etc. I assume these kinds of messages are already not allowed, and would get someone kicked from the game. And rightly so.

But a person sending "I'm offering Biolight for AI Data" to all his friends - including ones in the Middle Ages - is not really getting his message to the right people. That's not the way to effectively trade.

No sure what a spam message is in this game. If we are referring to unsolicited messages, Innogames is the biggest spammer. (Announcement on the login page, message in your inbox and on the side bar that only go away when you read the message... They basically force you to read them, otherwise you'll have the flashy new message button forever)

Send as much messages as you want, I will just ignore them and/or leave the thread as I see fit. And if it really bothers me, I will block/unfriend you or send a message asking you to stop adding me to your threads.

Over the years I've met a lot of people and we regularly talk in a thread, your proposal would mean taking that away, so NO, NO and NO ;):D.

Even though I'm no fan of these "help" threads, I helped a couple of people there and made good trades / FP Swaps / GB Sniping, so again NO, NO and NO :p:p
