Edit: Although, er, ah, if the emissary is in your tavern getting drunk, then no FP for you. He should be in your Town Hall, and you will have to install him in an emissary slot to get the FP.

If he is sitting in one of your chairs, it's because the player has put the first Emissary as their avatar. When you get the Emissary for your town hall, you also get his avatar.

Where? I checked the Select Avatar screen in my profile, and his portrait is not there.

Two of the avatars available in the game resemble the Emissaries Erik the Red and Leif Erikson. Maybe that's what the OP sees in his Tavern?
