Event buildings no longer allowed in the trader

Why is it not possible to sell unwanted event buildings at the trader any longer? They have a lock on them now, since one of the last updates.

All items can be locked by you, or unlocked by you, to sell to the Antiques Trader. There is a small box top right corner of your inventory, to lock or unlock each item as you please.

To amplify a bit. This box is only available when the star tab is selected. When this box is checked then each individual item will display a lock check box which can be checked/unchecked to lock/unlock that item.

you can unlock it the said that it would automatically lock in an update at some point so you wouldn't accidentally sell it
