game lags on new laptop

I got another laptop and it should be better than the old one. However, I find the game is slower and trying to do ge is annoying enough that is not enjoyable. The army moves too slow. When I switch back to my old one, it works just fine, so it must be the new laptop. Does anyone have any suggestions to make it work better.

Still running om a now 16 year old XP PC. Game runs fine. 72 Meg connection. What browser are you using? And silly, silly question, have you checked your drivers? Yah, I know it's new, but you never know. Good luck!

Obvious question, but if you'd been playing a long time on your older laptop, you may have forgotten the setting for fights to be sped up? I want to say it's in the lower left hand corner.

Is it the same browser, same version?

I am using chrome. It is what I use on my old laptop too. I just checked and whatever I set the speed on the battle will remain that speed whether I bring the game up on the old laptop or the new one. I do not know anything about drivers. I googled it, but it didn't help. It seems a bit confusing.

if you are using Windows 10 you are out of luck...lol...that is the worst ever. sigh....I had to go back to windows 7 and yeah... I have a bit of lag according to time of day when everyone and their brother seems to be hitting the taverns...but other then that my old windows 7 does great.

I have windows 10 on both laptops. I downloaded it myself on the old one. The new one came with it. I have never had problems with my old one.

If all the software is exactly the same on both machines, then something is wrong with your new hardware.

I quess I do not know what software exactly refers to. I am using chrome and windows 10 on both. They have the same ram, but different processors. I do not remember what is on the new one, but it is supposed to be better than the i5 I had on the old one. Also instead of the 1tb, it has ssd? I don't know if I have that right, but it is supposedly better. I may just take this laptop back if it isn't going to work right. My old one has issues, but I prefer the broken hinge, not working keypad and cord that has to be moved just right to make it charge over this lagging new laptop.

This laptop has choppy movements may be kind of part of what it is like. Since I have my old one to compare it to, which things happen smoothly and quickly, it is pretty annoying. Perhaps it is what some people have all the time. It isn't like my old one has never had some lagging moments. It is that the new one always lags.

I am not positive but think that SSD is slower than a regular hard drive. I think the speed of the game may also depend on your graphics card/engine but again, I'm not sure. Is/are the new graphics card and capabilities better/faster on the new machine or the old? If you bought a new laptop that is meant to be more of a "business use" machine vs. a gaming machine, that may be why it is slower as the "gaming" machines usually have faster processors and graphics engines. Again, though, I have only rough knowledge of computer hardware and software but just thought I'd float the thoughts.

New laptop sounds to me an obvious first check would be for updates. So go to your system settings and check for updates. Just for future reference typically when inquiring on computer related/game performance issues you'll want to start info like:

CPU: Intel i7 920
GPU: nvidia Geforce 9800 gt
RAM: 6gb
OS: Win 10 Pro
Antivirus: Windows Defender
Storage: 500gb hdd
System Type: 64bit
Browser: Google Chrome
Internet speed: 27 Mbps down, 4 Mbps up

I don't know what cpu and gpu are or where to find them. Ram is 8, windows 10, windows defender, ssd is the storage I believe, 64 bite, chrome, and wouldn't the internet speed be the same on both my laptops?

I was told by a number of people ethat ssd was faster, but really the whole thing is beyond me. You only have rough knowledge. Well, I have minimal knowledge and what I know I pretty much do not understand. I just looked it up and this laptop is suppose to excel in play and be good for work as well, but not as good for work as for play. I don't know anything about a graphic card. I used to just know to look for one with 8ram, 1tb and i5. Now it seems there is more involved, but it is all beyond me. I may just take it back.

Not sure what is causing these problems, but am positive that a ssd (solid state drive) is much faster than a hard disk drive. Unless it is malfunctioning, the ssd is not what is slowing things down. Did you check the speed setting of the game itself? There is (or was?) a way to control the speed of the movements of the troops during a fight. Been so long since I set it, can't remember exactly where, but think it was somewhere in the bottom left corner of the battle screen.

It actually keeps my settings no matter which laptop I am on. But, I checked them none the same. What I did find out is it is working a lot better with EDGE. I do not want to use edge. grrrr. A relative suggested uninstalling chrome and reinstalling it. But it won't let me. I get a pop up to close all chrome including those in windows 8 mode and try again. I closed everything. I restarted the laptop 3 times and it still gives me that pop up. I have no clue what they are talking about. So I can't uninstall chrome and reinstall it to see if that fixes it.

Honey, you might get more helpful advice on a PC/windows forum... you can simply post that you're playing a flash game, it works fine on your old laptop but lags on your new one. Whatever your problem is it seems a bit subtle, and there will be more computer experts on a specialist forum. Not to say that someone here can't help, just seems like the easy answers aren't working.

Oh boy, well, k try to remember it's also a good way to express such info as I have above, I'll leave it blank so you can fill out the entries and keep it on a notepad for future use. And your RAM is 8 what? GB hopefully?

CPU is Central Processing Unit, or processor for short
GPU is Graphics Processing Unit, this is the graphics card
RAM is Random-access memory, or just memory
OS is Operating System

You can find this info in a few places. Try Settings then System then scroll down to "About" which should tell you some information we're seeking here, then scroll down to "Device Manager", there you'll find more info like under "Display adapters" will tell you what your GPU is.

Go to http://www.speedtest.net/ for your internet speed, remembering to write down the download and upload speeds with the "Mbps" if that's what it hopefully has. (Keep in mind that at any time it may be higher or lower. A good thing to do would be when you're having problems running the game is to shut down the game then go do a speed test to see if it's really low.)

I'm not sure what the system requirements are for this game, I'm sure it's not much of anything and any new pc/laptop should be able to run it fine. Probably the most important is internet speed which spikes pretty high when loading up the Event History and such, so still check. Again make sure yours is updated even if new still check because new does not mean it has the latest updates.

There are of course many other things that can cause problems. I once had a set of wireless headphones that interfered with my wifi signal to the point where I barely had any internet connection, drove me nuts hunting that down because I had just changed modems and the headphones didn't interfere with the older modem so I thought it was anything but the headphones, what a nightmare that was.:mad: Oh and even though it's new check how much storage space you have available.
