Hagia Sofia. How great really is?

DeletedUser10415

Babel provides a nice plunderless source of goods starting out, and get's better with age. As goods buildings get larger and larger as one ages up, a 4x4 plunderless goods building that even produces goods one isn't boosted in is very nice indeed.

6x5 for 14,000 happiness / 42 = 466.67 Hps
vs level 10 hagia sophia: 6x7 for 6,400 happiness

This is the way I look at my Hagia as a player in TE.
My Level 14 Hagia: 8 Forge Points per day = 8 SoK's = 8x4 = 32 squares
Hagia: 6x7 = 42 squares, Lv14 7,573 Happiness.
42 - 32 = 10 squares dedicated to Happiness. 7,573 Happiness / 10 = 757.3 Happiness per square.

This is how I look at your Hagia:

Costs 5500 FPs to reach level 14

Pays 8 FPs daily

5500/8 = 688.25 days to recuperate cost of leveling it

Whereas SoKs give coins and FPs as a net gain from day 1

Except you either paid a lot of real money to get those SoKs or you've been playing for years and gotten fairly lucky in events.
Also if player is smart they didn't invest most of those FPs in leveling their own Hagia Sophia but instead they worked FP exchanges, and were in GB rings so they were likely getting more BPs and recouping at least some of their FPs.

What's the point of leveling Hagia Sophia past 10?

Think about it:

Spend 1827 FPs for +2 FP from Cape Canaveral

Or spend 2556 FPs for +2 FP from Hagia Sophia

The only extra benefit from HS is 1050 happiness

So you're paying 729 FP for 1050 happiness.

No I'm paying the extra FP for both extra Happiness and extra FP. Cape only provides extra FP.
Yes the Cape is great for it's size but it only provides FP. If you level both Hagia and Cape you'll be better off in long run than just focusing solely on one.

That's true but I haven't yet found the time when that's the case

Math doesn't really figure in look at the cape Canaveral after level 10 your paying 1k fp for 1 extra per day assuming you pay for the whole thing that's 3+ years to recoup, from a math sense it doesn't pay to level it yet its very popular. Happiness is more subjective as it directly saves space which has no set value.

My must have for gbs is st Marks, lighthouse, everything else is up to play style

Sorry I keep finding your post Itown I swear its not intentional lol

Of course the Hagia is great. Remember that pop song they wrote about Hagia Sophia that was all over the radio 2-3 years ago?

It might seem crazy what I'm about to say
Sophia’s here, you can take a break
You've got a Zeppelin that raises happiness to space
Still need the Cape to get FPs baby, by the way

Because they’re happy
Clap along if you want FPs from a brown domed roof
Because they’re happy
Clap along if you feel like Hagia is the truth
Because they’re happy
Clap along if you know what Hagia is to you
Because they’re happy
Clap along if you feel building it’s what you wanna do

Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all the FPs you got, and don't hold them back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you, I won’t do the same, yeah,
No offense to you, but your SoKs are lame, yeah.
Here's why

Bring them down
Can't nothing
Bring them down
My level's too high
Bring them down
Can't nothing
Bring them down
I said (let me tell you now)
Bring them down
Can't nothing
Bring them down
My level's too high
Bring them down
Can't nothing
Bring them down

Because they’re happy
Clap along if you want FPs from a brown domed roof
Because they’re happy
Clap along if you feel like Hagia is the truth
Because they’re happy
Clap along if you know what Hagia is to you
Because they’re happy
Clap along if you feel building it’s what you wanna do

With apologies to P. Williams. And too all of you.

But those SoKs don't give happiness, so the Hagia is worth more than just FP I like the SoKs too, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that you can't compare the 2 straight across the board like that. :)
