Take any and all advice you find on this forum. Use it all..or some..to find what works best for you.
But understand this...the most important thing is for you to learn to deal with/prevent this now. While you are early in the game. Don't wait til you are in LMA to start building city defense.
I recommend..space permitting(victory expansions)...that you have St. Basils built and actively leveling before you leave EMA.
If you continue to have issues...pm me...and i will advice you more thoroughly.

Until your city defense is high enough, one way to not get plundered is to put up a City Shield from the Tavern store.
