Trading too restrictive

I think trading should be more free market, instead of like a communal/socialist market. The merchants can rob you blind, so why is everyone else so restricted even from making legitimate trades? A range of .5 to 2 is completely unrealistic and overly restrictive. What is so unreasonable for me to offer a trade of 2.1 to 1 when I am offering goods from a lower age, or 3 or 4 to 1 when I have goods from an even lower age that I would like to trade? But the game limits me to an offer of 2 to 1; this really needs to be changed!! The game would be much more interesting if the trade limits were done away with altogether, or at least made much less restrictive.

I know I;d appreciate it if it were easier to take advantage of folk who are new to the game or don't have a reasonable grasp of the values of various Goods.

I could score a lot more Alabaster...

1: You forgot to put this in a proper format, but I wouldn't bother rewriting it for I doubt you'll get much support for others have wrote proposals similar to this.
2: My vote is no.

While this proposal might or might not be on the Do Not Propose List, I know that it has been suggested before and gained no traction.

Would it be nice to be able to trade easily across more than one Age up or down? Yes. But nothing prevents you from doing the One Step as many times as is necessary to trade what you have for what you need, although the process is time-consuming. We now can link to urgently-needed Trades in the Message system, which absolutely helps. You can spend some Tavern Silver to rent Merchants which offer better trade ratios. The system is a good bit better than it was not all that long ago.

I vote no.

The change is rather trival, and is ripe with abuse against new players.

The range of .5 to 2 works great for the same age trades.

There should be different formula applying to cross-age trades. I'm keep earning 20 basalt or 20 brass for my sales of 40 alabaster.

Take advantage over the trades that expand across 2 ages or more seems very possible under the current trade system.

Inno should separate those same age and cross age trades into 2 different menus.

They don't need to separate them because of the limits in the system that exist now........Inno clearly didn't want to make the 'playing the market' a major feature of the game. They can't do much to stop people doing that of course but their system puts some inherent limits to that move.
