As others have said, you get points for successful attacks, but it is likely only enough to slide you up a spot or two at best.
My point was that your place in the hood can make you more or less of a target. Which is pretty much the OPs complaint- they are at the bottom and are attacked regularly. And of course they are- easy wins are at the bottom.
