Thank you ever so much deep diver. I just looked them over.
I was going to suggest some sell building quests--but there is one. And it is one of those annoying quests that sends you back instead of ahead. Destroy CURRENT or Previous age buildings. Your best.

I plunder ppl w horrible old buildings, even Bronze age, polyglot all thrown together like a hurricane's artistry. Those people need a quest that reads something like "sell 2 buildings from the previous age or 4 buildings from earlier ages."

Roads are considered as buildings in the game so sell those

That's actually a good idea. Helps to spur the noobs to clean up their slums, and gives the rest of us a chance to clear out all the crap we pick up in the GE.

I would agree as looks like a load of lame rewards again, how can a Victory Tower be highlighted as a desired reward...where are the HoFs?

Agree 100%. There were events in times past where the large basket rewards had SoKs in them. I remember scoring SoKs in large numbers. HoF should be in the basket. What is going on? A Victory Tower really? I deleted so many of those.

A Victory Tower really?

I'm disappointed in the prize selection.
I honestly don't see me getting anything from the Event.
I'll go for Free Baskets from quests.
I'm still on the first Questline.

But getting 4 Boost Crates in a Row, then a Champion unit.
If I get skunked my first five hands, I leave that table.

I have a question about how quests work. At the moment, I have two options--"scout a province or solve 12 GE encounters." I've got 6 GE encounters left for the week, and a province that will be scouted in 10 hours. If I do the GE enounters now, will I have to wait until next week's GE to complete this quest, or will it be satisfied when the province is scouted?

I've noticed that when the quest specifies "3 troops from the current era or 4 from the previous one" (or the same two options for production buildings) you can't mix and match. If the first troop you recruit is form the previous era, only 3 more from that era will complete the task. But since it's only asking for one province, I'm hoping I can just finish the GE now and not wait until Tuesday to complete the quest,

I am pretty sure you can mix and match, (ie start completing one option, but satisfying the quest condition with the other option), I am sure I have done so before. There is only one progress bar and it shows the option for which you have progressed further. In your example of "recruit 3 units from the current era or 4 from the previous one", if you start by recruiting 2 units of your era the bar will show 2/3. If you then recruit 1 or even 2 of the previous era, it will still show 2/3 for the current era as this is closer to being completed. But if then you recruit a 3rd unit of the previous era, the bar should show 3/4 (for the previous era). And if then you recruit a 4th of the previous era the quest will be completed. (In this case will also be completed if you recruit a 3rd of the current era, so depends which you do first).

Bottom line, if you do an action that partly satisfies one of the quest options and the bar is updated accordingly, it does not mean that you now have to complete the quest via this option. Both options are still available and you can still choose to complete the other one instead. Whichever option is satisfied first (regardless which you started with and what the progress bar displays), will complete the quest.

A possible solution to this is treating the Baskets as if they were Casino Wheels.
Maybe not so directly but in theory.
Once you win a [lesser-tier] prize from a basket, it's done and you can't win it again.
But that can prohibit someone from winning the same prize they covet over and over.

Something along these lines so someone won't get skunked 5 very discouraging times in a row.
Especially the same item, which for me were Boost Crates.
Defense and Coin Boosts are literally the last thing a city like mine needs.
It's as if... new prizes were created to find a new bottom level.

There's a fix to this problem, and we just have to figure it out.

I'm there with you my Friend. I skated through the Event to see how fast I could do it. But these Reward Prizes? Yeesh...

The prizes in the crates. Yeesh...

Last Fall Event was the most successful Event for me personally since I started. So far, this is the worst Event. Yeeesh...

I'd have to get 6 good Daily Prizes to make this an average Event for me. Yeah, the odds of that do not look good. Yeeesh....

One of my Guildies (one I adopted based on his asking for help in the Forums earlier this year no less) hit 4 SoKs in 8 attempts Anyone else do this good?

Well at least I know I'm not being overly pessimistic when even Ardak thinks the event isn't good. =)

Wow... No, not at all 11 large baskets for me on SoK day = 0 SoK's =(

I started playing just when the summer casino event started, so I don't have much to compare this to, but the summer event was definitely more fun. You could work your way through the wheel for a prize you really wanted or take a chance on refreshing it to get something totally new.

That's 50% (instead of the average 20% for the large basket), so that is excellent.
I got 6 SoKs out of 17 attempts (35%), so I cannot complain. I am now keeping my remaining apples for when the the Cider Mill upgrade appears (I have 4, and would need 6 to fully upgrade 2 Cider Mills). If I manage to get 2 more upgrades, I would consider the event quite successful for me.

I don't remember if I've gotten any SoKs, but I've gotten some badly needed Reno Kits, One-Up Kits, Store Buildings. So I'm relatively happy so far.

I've had excellent luck in the last few events but struck out hard at the plate on this one...I've resigned myself to a maxxed out cider mill and and some doodads for filler...meanwhile, a guildie slammed three SoK's on his first four baskets...he's been around awhile so no beginner's luck

You could work your way through the wheel for a prize

The way the Baskets are now, you can lose forever.
The Wheels assured you of getting something good if you burned though enough dumb prizes.
The Baskets have no limiters of that nature.
You can go and go and go and go and keep getting the same horrid prize again and again.

I've played these Events long enough to be unaffected by one bad luck streak.
But others might not know this.

I started playing just when the summer casino event started

The Fix to this Big Problem might be eliminating prizes as they are won.

Once and every time the Main Prize is hit, the basket refreshes and the main prize is unlocked.
