Blew all of my apples trying to get a one-up kit so I can buy more of them & wound up with three Color Guard Camps, the useless daily special. Oh, and one Reno kit, but no one-up. Super frustrating. I'd buy more apples but they cost too much. I did buy casino tickets and don't regret that, but the risk here is not worth it. The daily special should at least be something people want.

Opened three big baskets yesterday to get another Cider Mill. The first had 2 Obs prints, and the second had a 1 Up, so whatever. Unfortunately, that 1 up isn't counting towards the ones I could buy individually today, and I'm not opening baskets with that stupid Color Guard Camp up, just went to colonial and I need to generate real units with my Traz.

I was gonna ask whether I wanted this special. Thank you for answering and Lauramiller the same

To be fair, military units aren't much use to me because I negotiate everything. Plus, I have so many units from guild Expeditions, including about 50 rogues, that I can never use all of them on the very rare occasions I choose to fight. So color guards, whatever they are, are especially useless to me. But I get the impression that nobody, including players who battle a lot, finds them at all useful.

That would be correct.

The only way I can see those being good enough to be a prize, is for very low-era players.

And the time has finally arrived.

Now I can continue my Event Quests and start claiming some buildings if I get lucky.
I claimed all expansions in case I win something nice.
If not, I'll use this space with no problems.

Always try to get into a higher era before claiming prizes.

They're not. They give a slight attack and defense bonus to the other units, but they have very weak stats, equivalent to a unit from IA or EMA. After HMA or LMA, they're simply too frail to take up a space in your army. So they're okay as a boost to a new player who doesn't have specials or GBs boosting combat yet but that's about it. Established fighters pretty much just use them for low era GvG or maybe PvP against people with really crummy defenses. The camp is undesirable because a player with a Traz might generate Color Guards instead of something more useful like a Rogue.

I just upgraded my Cider Mill to the Blooming Cider Mill. There is no animation. Is this normal or is it a bug?

It is kind of boring without any animation.

And before anyone asks, yes I have it "working."

Seems it's an oversight with the cider mill. There's no sound effect either.

I wouldn't call it a bug but I'm sure the devs will add animation and sound at some point.

SoKs again, opened another 5 large baskets = 0 SoKs. So right now I am 0 for 16.......

This event sucks.

DeletedUser27023

The results of my first 5 large baskets:

1st) One Up Kit
2nd) SoK
3rd) BP (Obs)
4th) One Up Kit
5th) Boost Crate

No complaints. Guessing the one SoK is about average.

Next 5 tonight:

1st) 20 FPs
2nd) SoK
3rd) 20 FPs
4th) Reno Kit
5th) 20 FPs

So yes, the SoK at 20% was exactly right. NO BPs! YEAH!

See, now look what ya gonna start, people go full retard when it comes to probability theory, just look at any thread regarding ToR:rolleyes: So in your extremely small sample yes you got 20% as the event states but someone can open many more baskets and not get any, to them they will see this as "bad luck" then the other guy comes along and gets 4 out of 10(40%) and they will say "he has good luck", silly mythical notions such as that. Then the bad luck people will get  and start spouting mad conspiracy theories:eek: like if you have 19 goods instead of 20 goods then an encounter in GE will likely target those goods for negotiations and if you aid 10 people first before buying a basket you'll get a SoK:rolleyes:.

Well I had done the math earlier because I was curious. With a 20% chance to succede, an 80% chance to fail, failing 16X in a row as I now have equals out to about a 2.8 chance. Which sounds low but would equal out to be about 1 out of every 36 people having such back luck. Though I had to use an online probability calculator because I can't math that well so that's assuming the calc was correct.

With none of the 'poor' choices disappearing when you win them I think this has the poorest probability of any event. Also ending up with a bunch of apples you can't use is meh.
