Manda, some events are city changers and some are...well, meh. Welcome to Meh Event 2017. While I have gotten an SoK, it doesn't look promising on the horizon..It's OK, another event will be right behind this one...

DeletedUser29060

SoKs again, opened another 5 large baskets = 0 SoKs. So right now I am 0 for 16.......

This event sucks.
I am 0 for 15 as well. I am generally skeptical of those posters complaining about odds being messed with.
I did some math, the odds of not hitting a 20% prize 15 times in a row is 96.5%. Soooo yeah. Skeptical.

To add insult to injury the diamond sale for apples just came up, what a pitiful sale. 500 apples on the most expensive package?!?!! 3 chances?!?!? Lol.

DeletedUser29623

Yeah, the amount of apples you get with the diamond packs or to purchase with diamonds is ridiculous. I can't remember how many tickets you could buy per diamond during the casino event, but I seem to recall it being in packs of 5 and not costing more than $10. That's five full spins of the wheel, whereas now you can't even get a single shot at the big crate for 600 diamonds. The apples cost too much, or the crates do

See, now look what ya gonna start, people go full retard when it comes to probability theory, just look at any thread regarding ToR:rolleyes: So in your extremely small sample yes you got 20% as the event states but someone can open many more baskets and not get any, to them they will see this as "bad luck" then the other guy comes along and gets 4 out of 10(40%) and they will say "he has good luck", silly mythical notions such as that. Then the bad luck people will get  and start spouting mad conspiracy theories:eek: like if you have 19 goods instead of 20 goods then an encounter in GE will likely target those goods for negotiations and if you aid 10 people first before buying a basket you'll get a SoK:rolleyes:.
I couldn't have said it better myself!

In beta I went 0 for 12 on rogue hideouts when I desperately needed them. So I know how you guys feel.

13 September

Opened 5 baskets (135 baskets) and here is what I received (in order):

1) 2 Observatory BluePrints
2) 20 Forge Points
3) SoK
4) SoK
5) SoK

There is hope! Re-stocking for WW, HoF

Thank you Inno.
I have opened 6 LARGE CHESTS and here are my rewards.
1. Reno Kit
2. Store Building
3. Useless 5 BPs
4. One Up Kit
5. Useless 5 BPs
6. One Up Kit

Inno has devised the worst rewards to grace a seasonal event IMO.
Definitely a "Meh" Event.

I wish I'd waited til today to try for reno and 1-up kits. The odds are really good right now, if you need either, as I do. Out of 3 tries I got two renos and one 1-up.

Well, so far the Venice Carnival was the worst of this year's lot for me. My opinion might change if I don't manage to acquire any HoFs from this one. Even then, I'm still feeling the acquisition of a HoF to be more of a luxury than a necessity for my city; I was much, much more irritated by my inability to get a Champion Retreat from the Carnival. I only saw it come up once in the Carnival, and it was early for a rather high price in the event currency, and gathering those hearts was a pain given how much it depended on the neighborhood's actions.

Couldn't be more true. Prior to this I found the carnival event to be the worst, but even that was better than this one, prize and or luck wise for me at least.

So far I've had 0 success, 17 large baskets on SoK's failed, 3 large baskets on HoF and failed so 0 for 20. So if my probability calculator is correct I've now hit 1.15% chance of failing 20 consecutive times. Or 1/86 people having as horrible luck as I am.

I will say I'm getting way more apples from trees than I originally thought. The last 3 baskets were done entirely on tree apples when I figured I'd only be able to open 1 or so more by the end of the event. Looks like with the trees I'll have 1-2 shots at the last SoK.

Looking forward to winter event, this ones a bust. I wonder if there will be another Soccer event this year?

How often do events occur? It seems like since I started playing (right before the casino event), there's no more than a couple of weeks between them, if you count the historical ones. I guess there's a fall, winter, spring and summer event, all of which are fairly substantial?

Historical events are random but consist of an event questline and a prize they aren't like the seasonal events.

Seasonal Events are or have been:
Summer, Winter, Valentines (or last year Carnival) Fall & Easter (though last year I think they called it the spring event). There is typically a Halloween questline as well though that is more like the historical events, and also a may day event which is also more a linear quest line with a singular end prize. Bianually there has been a Soccer Event.

Edit:

Here is a list of all of the events:

Finished the Event on the first Friday. Saved up my apples and hit for 4 SoK's, reno Kits/upgrades 3 HoF's, some boost crates, some 5 prints and some 20 forge points. Ended up with a little over 300 apples so I think I will wait until the last SoK and spend what I have.

I may have posted earlier a positive thought about this event. If so, I rescind that assessment. Without spending Diamonds, or getting rather lucky, the Cider Mill and its upgrades are the only thing you're guaranteed to win if you complete the quest line. I should have saved all my Apples for one big chest-opening party, instead of doing 2 medium size chest openings, but I didn't realize how measly the total number of Apples was going to be. The plethora of smaller events seems to have diluted the quality of the main events. Maybe they felt like we were getting too much too easily before, I don't know. I do know that I am going to come out of this with 1 Bazaar-like building in each city, with a couple of decent (not great) prizes to go with it. Compared to the first few major events I experienced after I started 2 1/2 years ago, the last few have been major disappointments. It's too bad, because events should be something to look forward to, not dread.:(
