Roma

At first, it was enough to tame the land; provide shelter for our people and a common meeting place. Later, we began to build, lay paths and raise an able army of spearmen to defend us. It was soon evident that we had to subdue the surrounding tribes in order to assure us of tranquility and to gain living space. Resources abundant within our reach enabled us to build homes and industries suited to our needs. As we progressed, we found it necessary to expand our armies, training specialists in horsemanship and with slings. Our expansion was twofold: To improve the living standard of our people and to bring civilization to the areas adjacent ours once populated with barbarians. We have set as our goal – which the fates have shown us – to bring civilization to the world; to the greater glory of Roma.

History of Imperial

History of Imperial

Stone Age: “The Uncharted South” was the name of our land before its founding. This province was not colonized because of its unfertile soil and lack of minerals. The idea of a nation profiting off of it was unthinkable. Therefore, this land was mostly uninhabited. The few humans living here traveled in small groups in the past, but one man would change that. A man by the name of Lucifer sought out to unite the small tribes of the Uncharted South and all the empires scattered across the continent to form a strong, peaceful, and prosperous nation. People were drawn to the idea of money and power, so they supported his idea. Thus, “Imperial” was born.
Bronze Age: A strong, prosperous nation was impossible without anything valuable to trade. As the Imperials had no crops, no precious metals, and no lumber, they had nothing to trade. The only thing they did have was enough game to get by. The founder had passed on his position to his eldest son: who was also named Lucifer (they all are, I’m too lazy to come up with another name) Lucifer II knew that the only Imperial would prosper was if they conquered another nation. Their neighboring country, Dunarsund, had a large amount of flowers, and exported dye for large profits. Because they were on good terms with the other nations, they did not have a strong army. Despite being weak, the Imperials were skilled with spears. They used the spears for hunting to attack Dunarsund. Dunarsund was a very weak nation. The closest thing they had to an army were the guards in front of the palace. Our spear-wielding ancestors were only faced by an untrained, volunteer army that was formed at the last second. The amateur army fell with little resistance, and one empire was crushed.
The other three nations in the region wee absolutely stunned by this event. An unknown nation coming out of nowhere and taking over a rich and prosperous land. They felt threatened, and greeted the Imperials with iron. To calm down Tyr, Hymir, and Fel Dranghyr, the imperials greeted them with kindness and gifts. After they let their guard down, and Fel Dranghyr was attacked, and conquered. Outraged by Lucifer II’s actions, the two remaining empires joined forces and stationed a massive army at Bronze Age Tower. As both nations had sent most of their forces to the southern border, the northern sectors were mostly unguarded. To confuse the two nations, Lucifer II invaded both nations simultaneously. Attacking two neighboring sectors from the coast. In a state of panic, they sent the soldiers at Bronze Age Tower to the two conquered sectors. With Tyr’s remaining army only miles away from the fort, the Imperials conquered 3 more sectors in one night. With only one patch of land remaining, Tyr sold its final sector to prevent further bloodshed.
Hymir was already caught up in the war. Half their army was lost in at the Bronze Age Tower, which was now a military base for Imperial. Unfortunately for Hymir, the sector previously conquered, was their main source of metal. Imperial had the material needed to forge weapons now, and Hymir lost it. A fierce barrier guarded by highly trained warriors guarded to border between Hymir and Imperial with the little weapons they had left. Taking advantage of this, Lucifer II led a small army through the mountains and took a sector from behind. By the time the warriors reached the disputed territory, another sector was captured. Hymir was split in two. The capital could not send troops to the other sector, and was soon all alone. Surrounded by Imperial forces, Hymir’s leader snapped and lost his sanity. The final sector was sold for a small amount of goods. At this time, Imperial had grown to a powerful nation, but Lucifer II’s son, Lucifer III did not believe in bloodshed, and wished to end his father’s reign of tyranny.

Iron Age
Lucifer III had finally come into power. Like his grandfather, he wished to expand Imperial across the continent by peaceful means. After sending scouts to the north, Imperials learned they were not the only empire to conquer a whole province. Maktaba had taken over the north. Lucifer III used peace treaties and formed the largest real-estate sale the world had ever seen. Two provinces bought at once. One had a fort “Iron Age Tower,” the other, had a great supply of sheep, giving Imperial another good export: wool. While slowly purchasing more land on another province, Lucifer III realized he was hurting his people. To buy such a large amount of land, he had to over tax the citizens, spreading economic inequality and poverty. Angered at his own selfish actions, he sought a solution. A big powerful nation would not just sell their precious land. There had to be a motive other than money. Maktaba was far stronger than Imperial. Lucifer III went to talk to Maktaba’s leader, Hasdrubaal Barkas. Maktaba was being attack up in the north by other nations. His empire would fall soon. He and Lucifer III came up with a plan. Hasdrubaal Barkas give his empire to Imperial, but act as if it was invaded. A new scary nation popping of nowhere and conquering such a large empire would scare them off. In exchange Hasdrubaal Barkas would govern this area. They would light Maktaba’s capital on fire after evacuating all the citizens. The Northern provinces would be greeted by Imperial forces, who quickly plucked off the weakened army, shocked the entire continent. They all now knew that a strong, prosperous nation had emerged from what was thought to be a barren wasteland. Outraged by their almost wasted efforts, the hostility between Imperial and the neighboring provinces, Pfefferbeg and Dunkelwald rose. These nations refused to trade with Imperial, and refused to let Imperials pass through their trade routes.

Early Middle Ages
10 years past, the next leader took over, and the hostility between Imperial and the Northern provinces grew worse. Enemy forces would attack Imperial cities to convince Lucifer IV to give over the land. No raid party success fully raided any city, but many soldiers were hurt or even died. In an attempt to make the military stronger, Lucifer IV started colonies in faraway lands. These colonies would research combat in foreign lands, and focus on helping Imperial prosper. As a result, the Imperial army grew very powerful, and struck back at the hostiles even harder and never failed once. After a while, the attacks stopped, but a year later, an Imperial village was burned down by Pfefferbeg forces. Outraged by the loss of his people’s lives, Lucifer IV sent the elite guard to conquer a sector of Pfefferbeg in vengeance. Not a single Imperial soldier was lost, and no Pfefferbegian was left alive. Pfefferbeg sent military forces to the Early Middle Age Tower to attack Imperial. Lucifer IV was ready to wage war. By winning the people over and using them to collect Intel, Lucifer IV was able to come up with a genius plan mid-battle, and conquered an empire without losing a single man. This greatly strengthened Imperial forces in the north, because they had captured Early Middle Age Tower. Unlike the earlier leaders, Lucifer IV was not completely anti-war, but was not a hostile. He attacked violent nations, and brought peace to their people. At the time, the Northern provinces showed no respect for Imperial, and attack them frequently, but after crushing the oppressive nation of Pfefferbeg, Freiherr von Greifensprung, accepted Imperial and the hostility ended. Lucifer IV could finally carry out the Imperial’s dream of expanding through peace, but we all know that can’t happen. As soon as Lucifer IV found out that the mountain clans were hired for the job, he sent scouts there and an onslaught of archers to shoot down the barbarians.
Back at Imperial, an envoy from Sturmhohen demanded that Lucifer IV and his people pay Kaiserin Konstanze taxes. Outraged by this demand, Lucifer IV attacked Sturmhohen. Now at war with a powerful nation, which even brought Barakas to his knees, Imperial was in a lot of trouble. While the Kaiserin was a problem, the mountain barbarians posed a greater threat. Provinces in the north that were once owned by Barakas were being attack by the mountain clans. This was tough because the terrain was so rocky. The barbarian slingers could easily attack any cavalry unit because of rocks, and any heavy or light unit would have their speed cut too severely and get little to no stat bonuses. The only units the Imperials could send were the archers, but an 8 archer army for every battle wasn’t going to cut it. After three provinces, the barbarians realized that Imperial wasn’t using archers because they wanted to. They could only send archers. Suddenly, Imperial was put on the defensive.
Lucifer IV, needed a way to combat these barbarians and their wreck less battle tactics. Imperial came up with a new battle style, one that could crush the barbarian forces. Thus, the berserker was born. These new units easily crushed the barbarians, sustaining minimal damage while killing them off quickly. The berserkers did fine in the north as well. The Kaiserin’s army was no match for these berserkers and her empire crumbled quickly. Imperial was unstoppable. After pushing through the mountains to find the root of the barbarian attacks, Lucifer IV and Barakas learned that Barakas’s old general, who was believed to have died after him and his men were stranded in the mountains, was attacking Imperial for revenge. They attacked Imperial with soldiers stronger than any Imperial had ever seen. Even the berserkers were at their limits. The army pushed to the capital. After a fierce battle, Barakas and Lucifer IV were both found dead in capital building, along with countless enemy corpses. Imperial was left without a leader.

High Middle Ages
Ragu Silvertounge, the Imperial advisor, struggled to lead Imperial while trying to figure out the empires next move. The only logical heir would be Lucifer V, Lucifer IV’s son, but he was still a child, unfit to rule, unfit to lead. It was decided that this child would lead the country, but he would need a great amount of help to lead at such a young age. In order to crush Celas, Imperial needed a strong new weapon. Lucifer V was extremely fascinated weapons from the Iron Age: especially the ballista. He requested for the nation’s team of researchers to create a hand-held ballista for a sort of, “cross,” bow. Aiming like an archer. But shooting like a ballista, the crossbowmen squads were formed. Celas stood no chance. His elites were brought to their knees by the crossbowmen, and the mountain range was finally settled.
In the east, Imperial had poked its nose into a fight between four brothers, who had a similar, but very different problem. A great king had died without picking an heir. His four sons set off a great civil war in his empire. Because they were still at war, Imperial decided to stay out of it for a while. Occasionally buying land, and eventually a whole province, but later Lucifer V would grow older, wiser, and more fit to rule. He would then solve the problems in the east. In his teenage years, Lucifer V became more obsessed with peace. He decided to continue buying the provinces in the east, that is, until he met Childrich. This man was bent on conquering all of his father’s legacy by force. Ludwig, another one of the king’s sons, begged Imperial for its help in stopping Chilrich. After crushing his meager empire of two provinces. Ludiwig attempted to assassinate Lucifer V, and take all of Imperial for himself. Outraged at his betrayal, Lucifer V sent troops all of the four military towers and crushed Moravaria. All but one sector fell, placing the final hurdle under siege. This sector was too well guarded to take down easily. Imperial needed a new weapon. As a result, Lucifer V did some more research on foreign weapons. The result: the Imperial trebuchet battalion. 8trebuchet stormed Moravaria and absolutely destroyed its capital. It was finally time to deal with the evil king in the north.

Late Middle Ages
The trebuchet were nearly unstoppable. They pushed Sir Richard back and forced him to retreat to his king’s empire. Through stealth and trickery, Lucifer V managed to push Darkblood all the way to the top of Mount Killmore by buying Wolvhamton from him, then acquiring sectors around the mountain to cut them off from the capital. While cut off, the remaining provinces could not receive orders, and fell easily. Mount Killmore was guarded by Darkblood’s sorcerer, who used his magic to make Darkblood’s army stronger. The soldiers of the high middle ages was not going to cut it anymore. To claim the summit, Lucifer V decided to teach the soldiers his family’s sword style. They became known as, “The Great Sword Warriors,” and slashed through Darkblood’s army and claimed the summit. Because most of the soldiers were out at war, the Imperial dungeon was mostly unguarded. Imperial’s old enemies broke out, united and plotted revenge. First, they needed a stable empire to use as a base. They gathered the rebels from all over Imperial and took over Raven’s Creek. They then plotted to take over Imperial. After a long time at the throne, Lucifer V was ready to let his son of mid-adolescence, Lucifer VI, take command.

Colonial Age
Lucifer VI had a simple plan for what he would do during his rule. #1 Rescue Princes Myciena from Kaiserin Konstanze. #2 End the tyrannical rule of Sophia Antoinette and relieve her people with lower taxes. #3 Capture the capital of the conquered Maidenport from King Darkblood. Unfortunately, there were a few kinks along the road. The first priority went swimmingly. The lands controlled by Konstanze were liberated and Myciena was safe. The second step went a little bumpy. The people were already so over taxed to afford Sophia Antoinette’s lavish life style that when Lucifer VI waged war to free them from the problem, taxes were severely raised to fund the battles. Yeah, probably should have thought that through. Ragu suggested that to avoid further economic crisis in the future Imperial lands, Lucifer VI had to force people into the military and raise taxes as well, though not nearly as much as Sophia Antoinette’s empire. She was conquered quickly, but with a great cost. Enraged citizens in the older Imperial province, and enraged citizens in the new Imperial provinces. Many small uprisings were held which Ragu advised public hangings, and an increase in military might. Cranky Imperial moved on to Louis’s lands next. Louis was eager to wage a war, as like Lucifer VI, he enjoyed a good battle of arms and wits. The two kings got along well, but after Louis realized he had absolutely no chance of succeeding he backed out and blamed all his empires problems on Imperial. He attacked, we attacked, he lost, we won, and you get the picture. The provinces added from Louis’s empire were even more hostile. Riots, protests, raids, the empire was at the brink of revolution. When Lucifer VI was finally ready to deal with the people and settle them down into Imperial’s better economy, Ragu Silver Tongue staged a coup de tat. He had gathered rebels, and bribed soldiers to prepare a full scale rebellion. Lucifer VI fled with Princess Myciena to the battalions that arrived at Imperial with the princess would aid Lucifer VI in taking down Ragu and the Great Sword Warriors. 2 Grenadier, 2 field gun, and 2 musketeer battalions vs. 8 Great Sword Warriors and 8 Musketeers. It was a bloodbath like no other. Ragu Silvertongue fled the scene and went into exile, but swore he would return one day.
The final province in the continent was owned by Victor Bonaparte. His province was weak from a recent rebellion and needed money to run, so Imperial just bought it and built new ports by its coast. These new ports did trade primarily with the east coast, exchanging anything from supplies to information. This lead to Lucifer VI learning about a new continent in the west. He and his scouts sailed across the ocean, and made contact with the natives. They believed in peace and were happy to trade for their land. Imperial now had a province in the new world.

Industrial Age
Settlers from Imperial who had left to find a better life had already taken over. They were in the middle of a civil war between General Dee and President Cartwright. Dee’s southern provinces believed in a confederacy while Cartwright’s provinces in the north believed in a union. State vs. Federal power. Lucifer VI needed to play his cards right if he was going to conquer this new continent. The south had better skill fighters but weaker technology, while the north relied on its superior tech and not so much skill. Lucifer VI decided that if he were to work with the south to take down the north, the south would be cake after because Imperial had better fighting tactics than the south, and the south relies on battle tactics to make up for their lack of modern tech. The first move of the war was to capture the eastern coastline. This would allow Lucifer VI to lower trade for Cartwright’s provinces by enforcing a tariff on all goods running down the only river connected to Cartwright’s land. If they did not have their tech, they would be unable to fight Imperial. Stage two of the war involved capturing Rantford. This provice produced tons of coal, so if it were captured, President Cartwright’s country would not have international trade or coal to fuel their trains, factories, and light fixtures: crippling his nation. The rest was fairly easy. He could not mobilize his soldiers or produce weapons as fast as before, making it nothing special. Now that the north had fallen, it was time to betray the south. General Dee was a bit surprised when Desperation was suddenly attacked from all angles, but retaliated and fought viciously at Las Penas and Dragon City. Despite the South’s efforts, Imperial now having tech that rivals the old north, and superior tactics compared to the south, so the south did not last long. Now Dee and Cartwright’s lands were both under Imperial control, the far north and the far south felt threatened. They acted very hostile and border fighting was common. To scare them off, Imperial bit back and took a province from both El Hacha Gonzalez and Barthelemy Philipeaux. They offered peace and both accepted, but trade between the two with Imperial was banned. Those two nations were very tough to beat, so Lucifer VI wanted to wait until the military tech was strong enough to crush the two without losing tons of units. Back in the east, the northern continent provinces were in a great war. In order to possibly profit off of it, Lucifer VI purchased a small province off the coast, and constructed a fort. Imperial is to strike when its military is stronger. For now, we wait.

I would love to write more, but there needs to be more events in my city for there to be more history to cover. :)

Here ye! Here ye! My fellow companions, i am rdy2play, from the land of Kingsland (ktown for short). I come to tell you of my lands and the story that follows. I, being raised in the savage wilds only knowing what comes of hunting and gathering for to feed my kinsmen, always sought something more in this life. Upon mine travels i encountered enlightenment. Not, mind you, from the voices of man but in a vision brought forth from exhausting days of travel through many lands. In my vision the revelation brought before me was to extinguish the foul and vile things upon this earth, and bring forthwith the justice and virtue you shall come to know today. Once finding that which i sought i returned to Kingsland and, upon seeing the way my fellow man groveled at the feet of the earth, i imparted upon them the knowledge i had gained in mine journeys. Thus they made me their sovereign.

Upon my first act i decreed that all men shall live as equals, and the community became that of a true socialistic nature. With this new found belief and vigor my kinsman worked with high spirits upon the tasks i set them bringing forth our society into the bronze age. All matter of man, women, and child was now master of a domain in which the elements of earth they were sheltered and all was merry. This brought about its own challenges, because they became content and as such found other things to find as intolerable and again the thoughts of man drowned their spirits and brought back vile and nefarious acts. In seeing such distraught writhe its way into the virtue of man, i was again encumbered to provide an answer, so i created entertainment in festivals and parties within the keep and in this attempt i knew i had only delayed their insatiable appetite. In further search to acquire an answer i turned to the lands to my north. Upon seeing the villainous behavior within i knew that my personal quest had only begun. In thoughts to turn these people so as not to corrupt my own i attempted reasoning with their lord. Having failed in my attempts the greedy king turned his army's to my land, and once again my people united under my just cause. Now we who were outnumbered and outmatched, for the enemy's army was superior in arms, i told my people not to fret because the just cause was ours therefore we could not fail. In believing so our courage was answered when the men who did serve in this kings army turned to our cause in seeking to live in the light of the era i ushered forth for in the heart man he knows what is right. And so was his army infiltrated and he defeated at those he sought to oppress. With this new land, which not taken but given as now their king met his end in the hands of greed, i opened my realm to those who sought it, and our numbers flourished and those of the same mind, virtuous and just, joined our cause. I then summoned for a council of knights to uphold and spread this justice whenever they might travel and the towns folk now with again newly lifted spirits built a great land with vast knowledge and brought forth a new time now known as the iron age.

Now seeing this world transform as if by magic i was ever heightened in my endeavor to rid it of evil. For when evil was replaced with good it brought about progress which seemed to me at the time make the people merry. But alas they turned to grow vain and greedy yet again, Those with the trade of iron recognized that it was they who provided most to the militia and therefore sought to rise above those of other trades. I again sought to find and answer to maintain the peace in my socialistic society. Where as no man can rise above another, because this will promote more evils such as envy with which many criminal acts are committed. Again i sought answers within the surrounding realms and found that they while producing much iron lacked the goods of dye and jewelry. While we were knowledgeable in such things so sought to trade them for others such as marble and wine to advance our society to even greater heights. Now the balance restored as those who defended us with iron were reassured those who produce other goods played a part in the betterment of our society. This growth continued so much as i did not have the means within my land to contain those who sought it. I then took yet another question at hand and this was how to grow my lands without unjustly unseating those who sought to do me no harm. I heard of a widowed queen whose lands where being ravished and all ill manner took place in her stead for see who knew little of ruling was left to care for the lands when her husband left no son for to bear the responsibility. I then wed this queen and joined our lands. It was a merry gathering at my wedding but not grand for as in my society i do not gain but as the man beside me and my word is revered not because i demand it but only because the people love me and deem me their lord so, out of this love and trust. With my land grown and my people merry it has not been hard to maintain this wonderful place where all are equal and wish for not.

With the history i have imparted i now bring you to the point of our story as to why these lands are without flaw. I sought to decorate and enthuse my people even further, and in this venture i succeeded for not only is my town the safest place to live it has become the most beautiful. Furthermore the other qualities it retains is the speed in which our knowledge grows and the population as well. Because of this greatness our entertainers are sought by many throughout the world and others seek protection which is willingly given. We have the most prestigious schools and scholars from all lands seek out Kingsland in their own endeavors. Others with the thrill for adventure are granted my boon on which to explore the world and voice its renown to the ends of the earth, or to stay within and protect it from those with envy from destroying the society within. In the pursuit i believe my quest shall never come to an end and my vanity is not so great that i do believe this place so created is the only among the world, so my guild is comprised of other land with the virtuosity and justice we possess and together with them i embrace all those who seek merriment and peace.

My words will end as such that happiness can be obtained at any moment but to retain it is to never believe in its completion and therefore strive to expand and grow continually such as these lands. Thanks be to those powers who create my world and continually conduct new ventures for me to partake i have enjoyed it so. :D

The City Of Heaven
The story of my town
The razor-sharp tip of a barbarian sword screamed deathly close to my chest as I tried to recover from an overextended
thrust aimed for my opponent’s torso. “I’ll never underestimate his speed again,” I thought to myself as I carefully took up my
position, once again facing the vicious barbarian raider. Attacking me with blinding speed, the seasoned fighter quickly put me in retreat, but I was not scared for I had the great Mountain gods on my side! And there it was – the first hesitation in my opponent’s volley of cuts; I took the opportunity and through a deadly thrust through his chest and fell to the ground… dead. With sweat dripping from my head like waterfalls, I looked around the battlefield and saw that the fight was over! Our new village, the City of Heaven, was saved. Our city has a great and mighty past, and hopefully future, that must be told. I fear that I am an unworthy herald to tell the great story of our history, but I will try my best.

Around 180 years ago my great grandfather and his family of thirteen migrated to where our city sits now; in the Mountains of Pumechec. For years my poor family struggled to survive the harsh winters in the mountains but somehow they survived it all and started the City of Heaven. Through great innovation and research my grandfather attracted many settlers, thus creating a city whose population was growing by the day. Once the population got large enough he started recruiting mighty and brave knights who were willing to die for our great city. After a short period of time our city developed one of the strongest armies in the region. We one war after war and conquered many lands which offered us access to large amounts of natural resources such as wood, stone, marble, and many more! Once we started collecting these resources our economy skyrocketed and made us able to expand our city’s lands to allow more people to move in. After 50 years of wise rule my grandfather died and left the throne to me.
When I took over the throne our city had been around for 150 years, thus giving me an easy rule because everything was
already established and stable. Focusing mainly on making my subjects happy has produced their productivity and attitudes very much in the past years. I am planning large developments and am continually expanding my city so that we will become a famous city through all the worlds. In fact, recently a large caravan of merchants and traders came through my city from a very distant land because they had heard of our great wealth! Also, recently we have joined an alliance of multiple cities in the neighboring area which is stronger than any other in our world. We call ourselves the Ravenous Devils. The taxes are low, we have a great economy, an invincible army, a strong alliance, and great cultural diversity. Who would not want to live in the City of Heaven?
Looking back at our past and how we have stood strong for many years, I expect a majestic future. Plans are in the making to build a very tall tower which will make us famous beyond comparison. Also, we are making innovations in our army and making some new indestructible war machines which can conquer any city in a matter of days. Finally, our trade routes will be expanded in the coming years, thus creating an even better economy for our great people to live in. The future surely does look bright, but we must be careful not to get to prideful and let our city be destroyed by our many enemies. Well now it’s time for me to be off to deal with some affairs of state. So this is it, the history of The City of Heaven; why don’t you come check us out sometime!

Live in greatness and may the gods be ever with you and your peoples,
-LordPriford

The Town of Hodor
----------------------------------------------------
So there was this town Hodor. Which is actually the town I’m hodoring in right now. So I should probably have said “So there IS this town Hodor”. Funny how I forgot that. Oops.

Maybe I should hodor “welcome!”.

Welcome!

Hodor was founded by Hodor of House Hodor. Hodor of House Hodor was a great hodor who loved to hodor all day long. You may remember his cousin Hodor who served Benjen Stark of House Stark. However that is not the same Hodor. This Hodor was Hodor's giant cousin (recall how Osha said that Hodor surely had some giant blood in him) who hodored often in the mountains north of the Wall. One day the White Walkers came so he went away to hodor in other lands. Somehow he managed to hodor all the way to world of Hodor- I mean, erm, Korch, where he could hodor in peace to his hodor's content. Remember how I said that he was a great hodor who could hodor really well. In fact, he was so good at hodoring that he built the town of Hodor, here in Korch, where he could hodor even more! Being a giant hodor, he hodored the town into existence really well and thus we in Hodor possess strong buildings with strong foundations that can withstand even the toughest of hodorings. The wonderful denizens - er, citizens - of our great town love to hodor along with Hodor of House Hodor and that is what we do best, Hodor willing. However, we also produce valuable goods such as granite, alabaster, and glass, the finest and most hodor-y in all of Korch. We use these to build more statues of Hodor of House Hodor. We even have a Tower of Hodor in which, many hodors live, and a great Statue of Hodor made of the finest marble and stone. We are a peaceful nation of hodor-people who prefer to trade and hodor, but sometimes people get nasty with us. In that case, we bring out the big hodors and hodor them into many tiny little pieces.

Anyways, Hodor of House Hodor appointed me, his son, Hodor II of House Hodor, as the royal hodor of Hodor, because I possess a far more expansive and hodorous vocabulary than he does (in fact, yesterday I added fifty new uses for “hodor” to my collection!). As royal hodor, my job is to hodor really really well and to see that the town of Hodor prospers under my hodoring. Recently, we replaced all our old cottages with new housed made of clapboard. Now, some hodors in our town might say that the new clapboard houses are flimsy and prone to falling over flat. But don’t listen to them, they’re just lousy hodors who can’t even appreciate the new baobab trees I ordered hodored into the ground in some places. I’m confident in my role as royal hodor of our great town.

So one day I was hodoring in the mountains near the hodor of Karchagu, which we had hodored into our domain some time ago, and it was hodoring really well. In fact, it was going so well, I was hoping to hodor my way across into Breturia in order to hodor that place into our domain as well. Unfortunately, I found out the hard and hodorish way that things don’t work like that.

You see, there were these really nasty barbarians who claimed to follow “Bogdan the Beast”. Obviously these unenlightened people had not been blessed with the knowledge of hodoring or even the means to hodor with. So I hodored over to them and tried to hodor them to show them how to hodor, so that they might become enlightened.

Unfortunately, they thought instead that they should attack me. In fact, they thought that they should attack me so well that they massacred my army of hodors and covered the valley with their bones! I was lucky to hodor out of the hodorish situation in a really hodorly manner.

Remember that I said that we are really good at hodoring. So good, in fact, that we can hodor our enemies into tiny little bits. But we needed something more for these un-hodorly barbarians.

Hodoring at the Statue of Hodor back in the town of Hodor, we prayed to the great God HODOR, and thus we hodored:

“Oh HODOR, bestow onto us thy Holy Hodors, that thou mayest hodor thine enemies into tiny little bits. “

And HODOR did grin, and the hodors did hodor upon hodors, and sloths, and carps, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and dragonfruit, and pearly pearly cherry-blossoms, and -

Hodor a little bit.

Anyways, HODOR hodored upon to us the mighyt and holy Hodors, which were actually powerful weapons and armour made from unobtanium. So we hodored out with a new army of hodors, mounted hodors, heavy hodors, and champion hodors to hodor away the nasty and poopy barbarians and their un-hodorous ways.

Basically, we hodored them into teeny-tiny itsy-bitsy little pieces, like I said we could earlier (have you been paying attention?).

We won. The end.

-Hodor II, royal hodor of the illustrious and most hodorian town of Hodor, son of Hodor of House Hodor, protector of the domain of Hodor, may HODOR bless him.

Prince Nicholas of Dwyer

Good Day! I am Prince Nicholas of the clan Dwyer. I moved into this town looking to build a life of happiness for my family. Though having only moved in a short time ago, I have been appointed leader of our village of 3722 people in the province of Houndsmoor. We are primarily a peaceful folk who enjoy trading with our neighbors such as Sir Garret, Prince Vesper and Sir Wcoachb. Of course, the best way to enjoy peace is to have a strong defense. Our village is no exception. We held a council meeting and early on decided to stay away from mounted cavalry preferring not to endanger the horses and so we are full of great strong armored soldiers from many different backgrounds.

Over the course of our history we have dealt with a few marauders and lost several brave soldiers (and some precious goods as well). However, our people are strong and quickly recovered producing such important building blocks of a community like bricks, gold, copper and limestone. People from places like Cinas and Ultor come to trade and we are always in need of items such as honey or granite. Our trading place is in the town hall, which is normally in the center, but ours is in the north east corner of town, strangely enough. Apparently, the founding fathers felt it would be a more efficient way to connect our homes and businesses. And as the leader, I tend to agree. It’s wonderful to stroll along Church Street or Company Drive or even our newly created Alchemy Lane which has been a great boon to the local economy. We are so blessed that so many people in other provinces need our potions and saltpeter.

I find the most rewarding aspects leading this community is the continuous growth of our economy and our never ending desire to learn new things and research better ways to grow our little village into a town or maybe even a city someday. Yes, I am very happy and though it can be a challenge to stay that happy, I have some great friends who pick me up whenever I really need it.

So in conclusion, you should consider joining one of our provinces and leading a village of your own. There are friends to make, people to lead, victories to be made and new ideas to explore.

Your friend,
Prince Nicholas

The Village of Chicken Legs

A sudden clap of thunder woke me out of a dead sleep. I was disoriented and did not know where I was. The last thing I remembered was creating a new user ID. I looked around and found I was lying on a dirt floor in a small hut made of sticks and wattle. Wondering where I was, I heard a not too distant noise of rocks pounding on rocks. I peered out the opening of the shelter and realized I was high on a hill and could look down on similar mud huts. Gathering my wits about me, I rose to my feet and started down the hill towards the other huts. The people were pounding grubs and some kind of vegetation into a paste. It occurred to me this was to be their meal. They looked up, not surprised to see, and bowed their heads in deference. From their behavior, I could only assume that I was their leader, although I couldn't even remember yesterday. They offered me a generous portion of the meal. My stomach protested, but I did not wish to offend them, so I took their gracious offering. It occurred to me that whatever had brought me to this place, I was going to be here for a while, so I'd better do something to at least make life more tolerable. The next day, the village was up early and we held a tribal meeting. I told them that we needed to find help so they wouldn't have to work as hard. Improved food and shelter would be the first order of business. I explained that if we built new huts, maybe we could attract some hunters who could provide us with meat to eat and furs to keep us warm, and hopefully long pants to hide my "chicken legs."

As hoped, hunters began wandering into our camp. They inquired about the empty huts and were told they were welcome to stay if they were able to help the village and teach other villagers their craft. Before long, our small village began to prosper and we could afford to trade things we had for ones we needed. The trading routes brought communication, and with communication, there was much learning. Our village began to grow rapidly and life became more comfortable.

Stilt houses began replacing our mud huts. We were able to live up off the ground and feel good about our progress. We started making rudimentary pottery and learned how to fire it. We could now store our food away from critters, more easily carry our water from the river, and cook our food without laying it on the coals. We began to cultivate fruits and vegetables to improve our diet. Our young began to look healthier and had more energy. We turned trees into lumber and our local flowers into dye. We grew grapes and made wine. We got drunk and danced. The whole village was now abuzz with activity. Life was good and the days passed quickly.

We began selling our excess goods to neighboring villages. We made friends, created alliances and found trading partners. I was soon invited to join the guild of Shogun whose members made me feel welcome and who have helped me progress to new heights of technology and civilization.

As our village prospered, our houses grew bigger and the roofs were made of tile to keep the rain and cold out. We acquired stone quarries and brought in masons. Paved roads replaced our dirt and gravel paths. The villagers started to experience something new; it was spare time. And with that, we created stone monuments to honor our achievements and those among us who deserved high praise. We also began making finer cloth and beautiful jewelry with which to adorn ourselves.

However, with our new found wealth we discovered we had a new danger. Those who had less than us came and stole what they wanted. We were powerless to stop them until we created and trained a home guard to protect our village and its citizens. Although I am not fond of going to war, we have further added to our military might in order to help our guild when called upon.

With an unemployment rate of barely 2%, the hamlet of Chicken Legs has become a very desirable place for people to live and work, and a large number of people have been relocating here. In less than one month, our population has grown to over 3,500.

What makes our little village so appealing you may ask? Well, aside from the idyllic location, we have a very clean village with comfortable housing for all. Our zoning laws insure that the people are not subjected to noxious fumes, unpleasant sights or inordinate amounts of noise from nearby industries.

There are also several choices for people to spend their leisure time. There are public baths, amphitheaters, a sandcastle, a wonderful marketplace offering all manner of foods and goods. To provide law and order, we now have two pillories to discourage criminal activity in the community. Yes, as happy a village as we are, we still have a few unsavory characters among us.

We are also blessed to have a wonderful tavern offering delicious food. Each morning, the citizens are awaked by the aroma of fresh baked bread and fruit pies. After work, many of them head there to enjoy a tankard of beer and mingle with their friends. The chef at the tavern obtains the freshest of provisions from our neighboring farmers and butchers. His apple and cheddar cheese soup is legendary, and he makes the most scrumptious meat pies this side of Arvahall. On Sunday nights, he routinely offers beef roast with roasted root vegetables that just melt in your mouth. And did I mention his juicy, fall-off-the-bone leg of mutton. My mouth begins to water at the mere thought.

One day, as I was working with my newest military unit, I heard a distant voice behind me ask "Watcha doin'?" From that moment on, my Lady became excited about helping me, and assumed many of the duties and responsibilities which were weighing me down. She is now responsible for optimizing the production of all our goods and trading with our guild associates. She has actually banned me from trading in the marketplace; that decision was completely justified. Now I have more time to think about our city's layout, its defenses and the general welfare and happiness of its residents. We have fun running our village together and strategizing its future. Together we have explored new territories and acquired new provinces to make our city even richer and our citizens happier. We've learned much from our neighbors and fellow guild members. We are excited about the opportunities we see and look forward to what the future brings. Who knows, maybe we will uncover new technology to help me return to my own time and place in the universe, along with my Lady, of course.

This is ridiculous, whoever this Princess Myciena is must have absolutely no life. To write 11 paragraphs on a stupid form to try to win stuff on a fictional web-based game? Please. Get real people. Stop taking this game so seriously. Yes it's fun, but don't waste your time going try hard. I've wasted enough time writing this post.

Why did you take so much time writing this? It's not like this is real. Spend some time doing worthwhile things. Go outside, do something other than sit at your computer and try to win a forum contest for a fictional game! Yes, FOE is fun. Yes it's even more fun when you're good, but don't waste that much of your life, please. I'm trying to help you.

Story of My Town, Stonem Citadel

The Fight

"Do you think we will ever make peace with those barbarians in the mountains?" Aliah asked of her fair-haired and light-eyed elder sister Minerva.

"No, no peace, there can be no peace with those heathens!" replied Minerva sharply. "We are a proud city of culture, wealth, goods, and trade. Why would we concede to those who are clearly beneath us, and why would you want peace with those murdering beasts who killed father?"

"Well, I don't like all of that fighting. Everyone who died and everyone who was killed..." responded Aliah quietly.

Minerva looked at her sister and explained, "Aliah, you must understand, the king is preparing for something. There have been no attacks against the other houses or barbarians recently, but this is the coiling before the strike. He will not quickly forget the defeats he suffered at the hands of the other houses who fielded more advanced weaponry, armor, and tactics. Nor will he forget the humiliation that was rendered when his forces were too proud to retire from the field of battle, and his entire army succumbed to the barbarians. I assure you, the king is building those new barracks in the military quarter for a reason, and I have seen the handsome and thick new armor on those soldiers as they train for battle. The king is planning to win this bloody war, and he is planning to do it before he ever steps a foot upon the battlefield."

Jenniah, the girls’ mother overheard the commotion between her daughters and yelled from the kitchen, "Enough! Both of you, enough!" Jenniah left the house and slammed the door in disgust, rattling the glass on the table and setting askew the painting on the wall. Whispering to herself, "they are so different, those two, like oil and water."

Jenniah meandered along the cobbled road, her heels clicking softly against the stone, and she began to look around at the sprawling city. In her modest life of 45 years, she has seen such wondrous change throughout her city. When she was Aliah's age she met the girls’ father Sven, a proud and fearsome infantry soldier, at the Tree of Love. Though donated generations ago, the Tree remains a common meeting place for young lovers on warm spring evenings. Yet despite his soft lips and gentle touch for Jenniah under the Tree on those sultry nights, Sven was a ferocious infantryman officer who fought and led many battles. As the mailed fist of the king, he personally dispatched dozens of spearman, warriors, mercenaries, and everyone else who stood before him. Everyone, until the king ordered his favored units to attack the mountains.

The Fall

Sven’s father was a Shoemaker, the most common profession at the time when Sven was coming of age. His father always dreamed of leaving his humble shop to his son and only child, but Sven was not the type to cut leather and sew. Sven always preferred the life outside of the walls of routine, and away from the boredom and safety of the status quo. So on the eve of his birthday, he marched himself proudly to the infantry barracks and enlisted himself to the service and cause of the king.

Throughout his arduous training, Sven never complained. He quietly and willfully listened to everything his officers taught. He fiercely attacked every task set forth unto him, whether the mundane sharpening and polishing of weaponry, or the wild boar knife hunting that the king requested of the infantry barracks, from time to time. Spit roasted wild boar and mead was a favored meal for the king’s celebrations, and there were few who were up to the task of killing the animal. It was on one of those boar hunts that Sven earned the recognition of the king for the first time.

It was just before dawn when Sven lifted his head slightly from the brush to spy the monstrous and razor tusked boar. Rustling in the leaves, foraging for berries and grubs, the boar’s hot breath created little cloudy puffs of mist that seemed to hover above the ground. Sven thought to himself, “This boar will make a fine meal for the celebration to come, as the ground breaks in preparation for the Zeus monument.” Sven grasped the cold sharpened daggers tightly in his fists as he watched each movement, not terribly unlike the way a panther watches a deer. He began to flex and charge his muscles for the lunge to come, and he rehearsed in his mind the swift and powerful killing blow at the throat and heart of the beast. Then… all at once… Sven released the dammed energy in his body, and the spring of Sven’s legs launched him from the brush at the creature. Wildly defending itself, the boar wielded tusks in vicious throws of its head, flailing from side to side. Sven made two deliberate quick passes with the blades and with the same powerful lunge used to launch his assault, he hopped himself up to a low forked branch on a nearby tree. He watched as the boar bled, he heard the whistling air pass through the gasping gaping hole in its neck, and then the boar on weakened legs from the lack of blood from his punctured heart stammered and fell to the ground. Sven in one smooth and methodical motion had delivered two critical and lethal blows separating the boar from air and blood. The blade in his left fist had punctured the heart, and the blade in the right had swiped through the throat. As the animal lay there twitching in the dirt, Sven heard noise rise through the morning still that was most peculiar, and immediately it drew his attention away from the hunt.

Clap, clap, clap, clap! “Bravo” resounded the king’s deep and raspy voice. “That boar will make a fine meal for those attending the celebration, and I look forward to your presence tonight!” the king said with a wide inviting smile.

“Sire, I am in training at the Infantry barracks, and I am forbidden to leave the grounds unless ordered to perform a task. Once the task is complete, I must return posthaste.” Responded Sven humbly, but affirmatively.

“HA! What? Uha uhaha!” Belted the king. “And from whom do you think all of the orders for your unit are dispatched?”

“I meant no disrespect, I am merely a soldier in training, following orders, Sire”, responded Sven.

“A fine soldier you will become, perhaps one of the finest, but for tonight you have earned a warm meal, cold wine, and my respect.” The king replied. Then raising his voice to a level that is unmistakably in charge said “If you did not come I would be insulted. It was not so long ago that my father had erected gallows for those who insulted him, and although I took the last one down recently to be replaced by our new Well of Welcome, I could easily have it put back in place. So what say you brave soldier? Do you dine with the king and share his finest wine, or do you dangle from a rope six feet above the ground for failure to obey the highest orders in MY kingdom?”

“Of course I would be honored to be your guest, Sire” yielded Sven.

“Ha, I should think so.” Mused the King.

The Reaping

“Damn that foolish cowardly dog who calls himself the beast of the barbarians!” Touted the king loudly to his generals. “Even had he not destroyed my army to a man, ate the horses who rode against him, burned the catapults for firewood at his victory celebration, and cursed MY name to our returning scout, I would still be wanting of his head on a pike.”

“Sire, he has powerful troops that flee deeper into the mountains with each of our victories and he gains strength at arms with every fight” offered up one of the generals.

“HE KILLED SVEN!” the king shouted as he smashed his fist into the table, knocking over several glasses and rattling the silverware on the table, and rattling the nerves of every military asset in the room.

“Sire, what do you propose we do to avenge your favored champion?” cautiously asked his general.

“I will tell you what we will do” replied the king growing increasingly annoyed. “We will complete our rearming… Our new Trebuchet Siege Engines that I was lucky enough to win in Greva’s competition are nearly complete… Our new light infantry Berserker barracks is complete and growing in strength and numbers seemingly by the hour… We will focus our research on the development of a new and powerful Knight to replace our aging cavalry assets...

And…

I will take Sven’s advice and upgrade the armor, weapons and training of our Infantry soldiers, and I will create a new Heavy Infantry barracks so that Stonem Citadel will lose no more of its’ beloved sons, husbands, and fathers!” …And the king sat down slowly and quietly as he finished his rant.

“An impressive plan, your majesty. What do you plan to do with such a force once completed?” asked the most bloodthirsty of his generals with a gleam of retribution in his slightly squinting eyes.

The king brought his gaze up slowly to meet his general. “I am going to take my force at arms, and I am going to respond in kind to that damned coward in the mountains. I am going to slaughter his barbarian hordes, I am going to piss on his shattered siege engines, AND I am going to grab him by the throat and drag him back here to the city. I am going to demolish our Well of Welcome, PUT up one of my FATHERS old gallows, AND I AM GOING TO STRETCH HIM FROM THE THROAT UNTIL THE LIGHT FADES FROM HIS EYES BEFORE ALL TO SEE!”

Roused by the king’s speech, all of the generals in the room applauded loudly, some whistled, some bashed their fists on the table repeatedly, but all of them knew that there was no mistaking the resolve that their mighty king had set forth.

“AND” the king continued, “I am going to liberate the lands that this pariah had claimed. I am going to take back the loot that this beast stole from his victims, and I am going to use it to improve the lives of every citizen of our fair kingdom. After this war is complete, I will direct research into new technology like farming to replace our many alchemists. Our poison producing industry will be replaced with food and nourishment production for a new generation of citizens, and I will improve the beauty and utility our city with new roads, houses, places of worship, and goods buildings. And in the end, we will reap the wealth of both OUR kingdom AND his.” The king concluded.

Florin, the Magical City of Inigo Montoya

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. I am the killer of Count Rugen, the six-fingered coward who killed my father with the sword my father had created for him, which Count Coward was too cheap to pay for. The gutless Count Rugen stabbed my father in the back, I gutted him, straight through the stomach.

Now, since I am no longer in the revenge business, I have decided that I would make a wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts. Florin is my port and my city. King Westley and Queen Buttercup have given me the run of the city, in gratitude for my help in rescuing Westley, overthrowing the evil Prince Humperdinck and preventing for Buttercup the terrible fate of marrying that warthog faced buffoon Prince Humperdinck.

Florin is a prosperous city of production and profit. Currently the goods produced are Coke, Rubber, Tar, Wire, and Gunpowder. Along with an abundance of gold coins, supplies are produced by reindeer, candy and baked goods are created in a fine confectionary, and ceramics and tobacco are also being supplied. The citizens live in fine housing, including a few rustic log cabins.

Florin's production and profits are well protected by a strong army of stealthy rogues, rangers and jeagers, along with powerful breech loaders and howitzers, long range rifles, and swift lancers and champions. Florin's military might also makes powerful attacks against its enemies and continues to expand its territories. Inigo Montoya, outstanding swordsman and pirate that he is, always leads these attacks as the field general, with his faithful Sgt Fezzik at his side for brute force, his personal one man Brute Squad. But it's not about revenge. It's about expansion and growth.

Inigo Montoya is a kind and generous leader who, along with Westley and Buttercup, wants what is best for the citizens of Florin. He fosters good relationships with neighboring kingdoms, and even in conquest he is benevolent, and all reap the benefits of the glory of Florin. The citizens of Florin are fiercely protected, and are kept happy with a number of special buildings like a Water Pumping Station and a Police Station to ease thirst and hinder crime; Florin's crime rate is almost non-existent. There is a graveyard but those who dwell here mostly all die of very old age. There is a very grateful and a very productive citizenry in Florin.

In fact Florin, now a strong Industrial Age community, is preparing for a big push into the Progressive Era. The citizenry is in enthusiastic production in anticipation of and preparation for this move to the next level. The people of Florin have enjoyed the Industrial Age for a long season, and they are ready and eager to enter the great era of progress.

Production of coins, supplies and goods are powered by Great Buildings like St Marks Basilica, Lighthouse of Alexandria, Fraunkirche of Dresden, and an Observatory. These investments are protected by defensive structures like St Basil's Cathedral and Deal Castle, along with offensive powerhouses Statue of Zeus, Cathedral of Aachen and Castel Del Montel, which along with a happiness inducing Hagia Sophia provides more forge power for new technology research and powering up Great Buildings.

Florin also boasts three Wishing Wells for the producition of all kinds of extra goodies, sometimes even expansion medals and precious diamonds. There is also an Oasis for extra goods and coin production, a Shrine of Knowledge for additional coins and forge points, and a Monastery and Watchfires for further defense of the city. The monks at the Monastery also make some very fine wines.

Inigo Montoya welcomes visitors to Florin. Our hospitality is outstanding and there are many wonderful sights to see and sounds to hear while you enjoy a visit to the reindeer paddock or enjoy some of our outstanding confectionaries. You can even take a swim and sunbathe at the oasis, or enter the Shrine of Knowledge for a time of enlightenment. Come, enjoy the marvels and miracles of Florin. Yes, you can meet Miracle Max himself, and he may even perform a miracle for you, for a price of course!

Just be careful if you have six fingers and have murder in your heart. Inigo Montoya just might have to take up the revenge business again!

The Rise of the SAR Dynasty

The Rise of the SAR Dynasty
Amid the chaos and the burning rubble of what used to be a small village a lone man began to crawl his way out of the debris that was on top of him. Badly hurt it took all his strength to rise to his feet. All he could see was devastation and death. There was no one around him to give him comfort or to give him help. He was wandering aimlessly to and fro with thoughts of the past events racing in his mind. His people attacked by an evil he knew nothing of. His life destroyed with no reason. Would there be any hope?
He saw a small cave and thought that this would be a good place to die and with all his energy gone he collapsed. Days went by and like the new morning sun rising up the man slowly awoke. He sat up and looked around seeing a fire with meat slowly roasting and a small hut behind the fire. A woman came to him and smiled with relief that the man was up and feeling better. He was grateful to the women for caring and giving him comfort. Hope filled him and he was alive.
He vowed that day that this place would be a kingdom that would stand for all of time and that no one would destroy it like his village before. He would be king, king SAR, and he would name his kingdom Sarville. He would not be like those evil people who attack and decimate, but would bring up a people for the delight of the world at large. At the same time he would make sure that his kingdom would be well defended and guarded at all times through the ages.
Seasons have past and Sarville grew from a tiny village to a magnificent city and all the while SAR’s children governed it well. They forged ahead inventing many things and learning from other nations new ways of improving the quality of life. The SAR’s of each generation, whom were kings, prime ministers, and presidents, knew they were not alone in this world and always strived for peace. Each member of the SAR family would be among the people and helped them in any way they could. It was so well in grained in the people of Sarville that they took it upon themselves to go out to other villages, cities, kingdoms and helped by motivating the people to do good work and polished their landscapes making them look beautiful.
Not every country cared for the SAR’s or for what Sarville did and so they tried to attack the peaceful kingdom. However, neither the ruling SAR’s or the people of Sarville allowed them to come up against them. Each time they all came together and dug in and wage both a defensive and offensive front. To this day Sarville still stands and is always ready to bring peaceful actions or defend with might.
Sarville truly is an empire forged by one man to become a great nation that will stand the test of time.

Robinson’s Rock established 2000 BCE

Robinson’s Rock established 2000 BCE The up and coming townknown as Robinson’s Rock is a medieval town. It is known across the land as a flourishingtrading city that welcomes the weary traveler as lord (for the right price). WhenGeneral Brass took over the lordship of the town it was renamed to Robinson’s Rock in the early Bronze Age. The city of Robinson’s Rock is flanked atriangular bay, into which emptied the Temric and other Gurmron rivers, at the south-eastern tip of the great estuary known as the Gateway. The light soils of thecountryside to the east are suitable for raising sheep, which provided thefertilizer for growing cereals such as barley, wheat and rye. To the west, therich, heavy soil of the Black hills supported sheep and cattle and thereforedairy products. Robinson’s Rock’s location represented a convergence of road, river and sea routes. The Great Time riverran south from Robinson’s Rock and, before it turned westwards, was connectedto the Temric and thereby the Gateway (which also serves several inlandcounties and towns near Robinson’s Rock) via artificial channels. The site is close to several important land routes, including the major east-west routeacross the northern fens, which led into northern Robinson’s Rock territories. These linkages into the rich agricultural hinterland of the Fens, western Norwichand the east Midlands, and (in the other direction) to the ports of northern Uhland, put Robinson’s Rock in a great position to become a trading center.
Robinson’s Rock seems to have people living therefrom all around the realm. The Bishop of Thetford often visits the town andeven has a private villa located in the heart of the city. It is known that manyof the earliest settlers in the area must have been working the salterns, andit was likely the availability here of salt, important for the curing of meatand fish, that attracted visits from traders of north-western of the realm. This trade has extended in time to the wool and grain produced in the region. Asthis trade regularized, a few of the foreign traders have themselves settledhere. These informal markets probably took a rightful place along the towncenter. At some point in the first two decades of the twelfth century, General Brass placed a church under the jurisdiction of the monastic priory of Robinson’sRock cathedral, together with a market held each Saturday and an annual fairheld over three days around the feast of St. Margaret. General Brass’s actions mayhave been motivated by a wish to capitalize on the growth of trade using the rivers,by trying to make Robinson’s Rock a focus of that trade. By establishing early on what is in effect a town and helping develop its facilities, the General could hope to increase his own revenues – from suchsources as tolls, rents, building licenses, and court fines – as a result ofthe stimulation of local commerce and the increased settlement which thecommerce would in turn stimulate. By mid-century the population had increasedto the point where settlement had spread north of the city, facilitated by thepresence of a bridge across thefleet; part of the population expansion was due to the introduction of a Jewishcommunity, which was the target of many attacks, perhaps mainly from foreignersin neighboring towns.
Just as the small market settlements pre-existing the episcopal 'foundations'in both central Robinson’s Rock some features were doubtless the result offorethought, the topography of the site was a great influence on the evolutionof the layout of the town. This was determined partly by stretches of raisedground (the product of silting and salting) west of the sea bank and to alesser extent by the firm banks of the fleets, both of which provided naturallocations for roads; and partly by the need to connect east-west land routesand the points where ships could load or unload goods. It is perhaps best to saythat Robinson’s Rock has become into being through a combination of naturalgrowth, stemming from trade contacts originating through the salt industry, and conscious intervention by authorities who could stimulate the growth ofcommerce and settlement by providing them with advantageous institutions. It isto be noted that judicial sessions may be at times harsh. Otherwise the townfolk have given cognizance to other complaints of unruly behaviors. Thisevidence suggests how Robinson’s Rock economy was diversifying and how the porttown was attracting settlers from far afield.

A guided tour of Home

I am The Kyle, I have stood as the leader of these people for generations. Today I will be taking a break from my daily activities as sovereign of these people to assist you on a guided tour of our city along with some historical tidbits about our people and culture. We will start our tour here, at our town hall. This is where I conduct my business allowing the city to grow and regulate the economy and all city governing takes place. As you can see, recent renovations have brought our town hall into the Late Middle ages.

Immediately across the street you will see one of our nation's first major achievements, the Colosseum. Erected in the Iron age, the Colosseum has been a pillar of our community, everything from art and music festivals to public trials and executions play out on this great stage that serves as a source of entertainment and justice for our society.

If you will follow me southwest down 1st Avenue, on your right you will see the famous Hagia Sophia. A museum and academy created to allow all citizens to study world religions and art. A feat of society that has allowed us to educate our citizens and research technologies and create many of the things you will see on our tour. On your left you will see the Notre Dame, one of the most amazing architectural feats of the age, it serves as a place of worship for our religious citizens and has brought many cultures together within our borders allowing our citizens to happily express their religious backgrounds together.

Up ahead is the Castel Del Monte, or Castle of the Mountain. Constructed by Emperor Frederick II and currently used as a prison. Its solid walls and fortress like design were purposed for war and intended to hold besieging armies at bay while allowing all inside a defended position for battle, currently houses some of the nation's worst criminals currently awaiting execution at our Colosseum.

Here we have come to the Cathedral of Aachen, a museum dedicated to some of the most beautiful religious artwork and public assistance. The public library offers any and all citizens access to literature and education, this library is so extensive that it contains at least one copy of almost every known piece of writing to date.

As we reach the end of 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Avenue and turn onto Main Street, we see the St. marks Cathedral, offering many citizens an extra means of income and even more of our world's beautiful works of art lining its halls and domed ceilings.

As you Come down Main Street, you will enter the first ten of our cities housing districts, our city currently has 49 different housing developments offering all our citizens an equal means of living. As we turn northeast onto 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Avenue you will see the Lighthouse of Alexandria. The Lighthouse of Alexandria was once the tallest man made structure on the planet, It united our citizens in its construction giving us a shining beacon of hope for all to see from the horizon.

The statue of Zeus lies just past the lighthouse, a modern military history museum detailing our amazing military's victories and defeats, tactics and structure, it currently openly recruits citizens into our military and assists in their training. Ahead we have the Hall of Fame, a memorial for our honorable soldiers lost in battle. Every soldier that has died in war has their name here, and an eternal flame is left burning as the centerpiece to the memorial, a reminder of our nations most valued citizens and their sacrifice.

By now you may have noticed the large military installations on your right, these are only the first of the military bases in the city as our military is a pillar of our community offering employment, structure and education to all citizens. As military enlistment is compulsory, our military has expanded greatly. We have come to the end of 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] avenue, with our observatory standing high studying the cosmos. A place where all astronomers and astrophysicists to study our place in the universe and learn more about the worlds around us.

You may also notice that at the end of the street stands a watchfire, one of thirteen strategically placed around the city, ready to alert our citizens of an enemy armies attacking at a moments notice. Ever since the Battle at Cremation Creek they have kept our city safe from attack.

As we turn back towards Main street we will pass more of our cities housing developments, Rumor has it that some of the council members for the notorious Guild of Calamitous Intent live in these parts of town as shady dealings and suspicious characters are seen here regularly.

Now on our Way down 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Avenue we see the primary hub of our military force, from heavy infantry to crossbowmen and trebuchets our military is a force to be reckoned with, for all neighboring communities that wish to threaten us. As we reach the log cabin, a commonhouse allowing any citizens that want to put on ceremonies and events, it regularly holds weddings, funerals, anniversary dinners and all sorts of celebrations. Our local glassblowers produce some of the finest glassware in the world, and the wishing well across the street is said to be enchanted and occasionally will reward citizens with goods or even diamonds.

As we pass our next set of housing developments I would like to note that one of the most important structures in our society is our citizens equality. No citizens are given more than others, all citizens are paid equal wages, all are taxed at the same rates and none are given special treatment. All crime is considered a capital offense and all persons found guilty of any offense face death, myself included.

4[SUP]th[/SUP] avenue begins with our cities monastery a hidden fortress that leads underground able to fit all citizens in a defended stronghold that is impenetrable to any modern assaults and stores enough food and water for our citizens to live for several months. All non active military citizens are instructed to assist each other into the fortress at the first lighting of any of our cities watchfires.

Next is personally one of my favorite places in town to go to relax, The Beach Bar, a place where anyone can unwind and relax with no hassle. spend a night drinking with friends, meet new people and have a good time. Our local with doctor has offered potions and elixirs that can do anything from cure your hangover to grant you amazing power. Our silk manufacturer produces some of the finest silks around, offering them to all of our citizens so everyone can enjoy his fine products and materials.

At the southern corner of the city you will notice a special, new housing development, this is a special project showing our citizens the way of the future, and uniting us towards a common goal. At the end of 5[SUP]th[/SUP] Avenue is our cities Shrine of Knowledge, a place where all of our greatest achievements in science and technology are displayed.

As we progress and grow the future will hold many things for us, we currently have our best architects and researchers developing new technologies and designing new structures to help us advance into the future. This concludes my guided tour of our city I welcome you all to stop by my beach bar for a drink, a receipt for this tour is good for one free drink between 5 and 8 pm. Monday to Thursday.

I thought rules said BETWEEN 300 & 500 Words, so I'd like to add a few more to bring this story from 493 to over 500
Fartingham Sammiches

I'm BabeRuthless, Queen of an idea and a plot of land...

Fartingham Sammiches is now a great metropolis but it didn't start out that way...

It was just me and my hand-maiden along with a few peasant slaves, a stray cat and my inhaler, left to face the devastation that the Barbarian raid left in its wake. I had to leave all I knew behind so I traveled South where I knew my Uncle, Count Nutria III, a rather fickle man, still had land near the swamps.

When we arrived at Swamphampington Manor, we were welcomed by my Uncle, now quite mad and who suddenly insisted we call him Mongo. We discovered quickly that not one speck of sense resided with Uncle... ehem...Mongo. So I decided that I'd make Swamphampington Manor into a hub of trade and commerce. Of course the first order of business would be to change the hideous name to a more attractive, business savvy name.

With my Uncle's blessing, and cursing and every other kind of 'ing in-between, I set out to rename and establish a town worthy of utterance. We still needed citizens so I ran several ads by securing a banner that read, "If ye lived here, Ye'd be home already!" onto my horse's hind end and we took turns racing all over the land in hopes of attracting citizens to come reside in our humbled town.

We received a small group of forced labor volunteers to work the fields. Then as our first harvest came, people came from far and wide to steal our produce, which led to the need to construct gallows, which then led to a great need for Gallows men which in-turn led to employment with a rather good benefits package... for the gallows men that is, not for those about to be hung.

We then captured and spared hanging a traveling Theatre troupe of men who looked half-starved. Their playwright was a scraggly young man who went by the name Billy Shakyspear who delighted in writing comedies and tragedies which nobody could understand except dear Uncle Mongo. Though his plays were hideously hard to understand, somehow it had become fashionable to attend each one.

One day, the lad asked for help as he suffered malnutrition and could not quite focus to think on a title for his latest play about a rebellious shoe that did not want to be used on a foot. I suggested, "The Taming of the Shoe", but I suspected he did not take to that title too well as I've yet to hear of a play called that. Even in his weakened state, Billy kept on about not having enough focus due to not having any food.

For days Billy came to the palace begging that I feed he and his troupe and I'd refuse on the basis that he first needed to attract a suitable number of audience members contributing to the city's treasury. I did this knowing two things. 1) Mr. Billy Shakyspeare's plays were enigmas at best to all who attempted to watch his plays. And 2) He'd soon starve to death at which I would not be out any food nor have to worry about feeding him or his actors.

Two weeks into their stay in our fair city there came a mysterious stench which caused peasants and clergy, noblemen and military alike to run around in a panic, certain that this must be the beginning of yet another plague in the land. And a plague there was but not one of death and disease but one of farts and pork. Two thousand rabid boar swarmed the town, stampeding all that were in unfortunate enough to be in their path so in an attempt to save my town, I decreed our very first annual Boar Killing season.

The land was soon filled to the full with pork in every smoke house, bacon wrapped 'round every toe, and...wha? Well, if you had suddenly come into a huge horde of bacon, wouldn't you eat as much as you possibly could and when stuffed to the brim, wouldn't you desire the next best thing? To wear it?

And so for the entire year all the townsfolk ate pork, ham, and bacon, and our town began to be known for farts and ham and yes, even ham sammiches. The year long stench causing most of us to hunker down on windless days and nights as smell best described as a legendary def-con 5 Red Alert fart status which held a slight piquant of acrid burp wafting through the streets.

During the great boar invasion, Billy Shakyspear insisted that we feed he and his troupe because evidently actors do not stoop to serving food even to themselves and had not even so much as lifted a crossbow to help themselves to a smorgasbord of pork in all that time.

I humored a meeting with the wordsmith and in order to expedite getting back to my article, "Ten Religions That Hate Pork" in yearly perodical Knave Magazine, I suggested that he visit my public relations scholar (who also moonlighted as our chef, who, in reality, was Uncle Mongo).

Mongo suggested a name-change and so Billy became William Shakespeare which I admit, sort of rolls off the tongue with much more ease. Billy was now William, William Shakespeare, and soon after changing his name, his career took off as he began showing greater focus and soon he became famous and was requested to perform in London.

In memory of Billy, we hold in our museum, to this very day a bronze statue that encompasses the true meaning of farting and of ham and of the sammiches made of the many vats of leftover ham. And Fartingham Sammiches was born.

Our City has grown since, and my public baths are now the best in the land as I hire fresh menfolk who are buffed and fit for looking. We also have the world's largest collection of toe nail clippings piled high and on display. We are known for wearing bacon on not only our toes but also our ears and heads, but never in summer!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a meeting with a Leohardo da Vinchwiki who needs my help with an art project. "Uncle Mongo! I have need of you!" Uh.....Is this interview over?

Thank you, and please do enjoy your stay at Fartingham Sammiches. Gertrude will show you out.

The Kingdom of Kush

I will relate to you a tale of my homeland where I was born an average man that later became King...

My land was not always as beautiful and bountiful as it is today, nor was it as peaceful. In the west were the rolling hills of emerald farmland as far as the eye can see. To the east , the deep, blue ocean ,that stubbornly gave its bounty of fish and sea life, whose waves rose an fell like a deep exhale of breath showing it's power but never giving up it's secrets'. The great , dark Thuum Mountains that gave us riches in gold, silver, precious jewels and various metal's, stood miles high, guarding the entire north of Kush with an impenetrable snow covered wall of solid granite and earth. Kush has the greatest sculptors and jewelers in all the world who are unchallenged master's at their trades. The immense magical forest of Krall , and rivers of the south provided Kush with never ending lumber, and water power,to sustain our mills and Kush's ever growing populace and economy with the means to do tremendous business , and culturally advance to new heights. The Chalet where I was born and grew up in, was built by my Grandfather Raven, who in life was a decorated general who served our King Brennan. He was a veteran of the Great War between King Hasdrubaal and The Kingdom of Kush, which lasted for 7 years until we finally defeated his kingdom and forced his unconditional surrender. Hasdrubaal was forced to become a lesser vassal king, and was so until his death at the hands of my Grandfather 3 years later when he again tried and failed to rebel against Kush.
The Great War saw many casualties from my country...many a son, brother, father, and husband did not return. The emerald fields were the red color of the dye we used to color our flags that had the royal crest of Kush emblazoned upon them, announcing the coming of our army, and the sovereignty of our young but proud kingdom. Our navy sent many enemy ships to the deep blue depths of the ocean, that swallowed their broken and defeated hulls as cold and unforgiving as the steel of a sword against a man's mortal bones...
Hasdrubaal's generals' even tested the dark, foreboding power of the Thumm Mountains, trying to cross them to outflank Kushs' forces in the north, but the Thuum stood defiant, and unleashed the cruel, biting winds and snow that swept Hasdrubaals' Northen army down it's slopes' and into the deepest recesses, that only the rain from the heavens can go unchecked, allowing Kush's Northen Legion's a complete and decided victory. Even as our southern rivers' ran red with enemy lifeblood, the Northen Legions' proud stand, and the magical Forest of Krall resisted the fires of the enemy, yet still Hasdrubaal's army would not yield. King Brennan himself led the final offensive planned by my Grandfather Raven, who himself led the Western Mounted Calvary Legion in support of the King, and met what was left of Hasdrubaals' Army at the gates of his main city ,Maktaba. Prior to this last campaign King Brennan, promoted my Grandfather General Raven Maibeaire ,to the rank of Supreme Imperial Commander, and since the King's only son was killed in the Battle for West-Nagach, his successor to the throne of the Kingdom of Kush. King Brennan was mortally wounded during the engagement and was taken back to Shaingra-la , the royal palace , to be treated by the Imperial Physician Picard. Two days later, General Raven Maibeaire accepted the unconditional surrender of King Hasdrubaal in the throne room of his palace at Maktaba, and received the royal scepter of the King to spirit back to King Brennan. Upon arrival to Shaingra-la General Raven was quickly escorted to King Brennan's chamber's where the General relayed the final events of the battle and its subsequent end. He presented the royal scepter of Hasdrubaal to King Brennan and left the King to the Imperial Doctor. King Brennan never fully recovered from his wounds, and relinquished authority to my Grandfather as regent to govern, protect and repair the Kingdom in his stead until the King's death 1 year later. My Grandfather was crowned King when I was but ten, and ruled for 12 years. My father who also was a career soldier and decorated hero, was named heir to the throne and was crowned King Le'Roy Maibeaire when I was 22. He continued Kush's defense and expansion to new lands with an ever changing array of weapon technology, and soldier type ,that was more advanced than our enemies, aided also by a rich and diverse culture that garnered both envy and respect from our neighbors. My father reigned for 20 years and had brokered peace during his last days as King. I was crowned King Artayja Maybeaire of the Kingdom of Kush when I was 42 years old. I see change on the horizon for my Kingdom...and a broken peace to come...

The Kingdom of Kush welcomes it......

Salzburg - Established roughly 2013-14.
I designed its layout according to my dream vacation Salzburg, Austria. Ever since I first watched the musical “The Sound of Music”, I always wanted to see its lush mountains, illustrious buildings, and experience the rich culture to be found in the markets and museums throughout the town. After playing “Forge of Empires” for a few months, and unlocking all the unique residential buildings such as “Cottages” and “Manors” as well as “Markets” and “Arches”, I could think of no other name for my city to replace “evalani’s city” than “Salzburg”. Throughout the game I have strived to maintain a well efficient and appealing outlook of the layout of my buildings that if my town really existed, would be among the top 10 places to visit in the world. No matter what changes of progress become available to my fair town in the future, I will attempt to maintain this image.

To provide a variety of history and culture, I have researched and constructed many great buildings. Not only do they display an amazing view of skill and art, both of past architectures and today’s knowledge of technology required to duplicate them for future enlightenment, but altogether, they assist numerous ethnic groups around the world in acquiring the rich knowledge they provide. For the tourist or resident, I have allowed space to accommodate a population of 8763. The government of Salzburg strives to make living accommodations and demands such as personal space and taxes as much available and yet simple as possible.

Furthermore, for protection against any hostile neighbors in the future, I work hard to keep up to date on the research of the latest defense techniques. Throughout the history of Salzburg, its government has tried to maintain peace with the surrounding sectors thru trade rather than hostility. The current status of the Salzburg government is peace with all surrounding alliances. The town of Salzburg is a part of the alliance “Heatseekers” and strives to assist in any way, shape or form to every fellow townswoman within or if possible beyond its means.

Last but not least, is our ever-successful area of production. Salzburg can boast of producing almost at least one of each of the glorious ages past from the Stone Age down through the Industrial Age. In this small way, the residents of Salzburg are capable of constructing not only rich and rewarding buildings for themselves to enjoy but they can provide that opportunity to others in the alliance and neighboring sectors as well.

Overall, I hope that my town has and will continue to inspire others to dream beyond their present conditions and pass on their ideas thru their work to others.

After more days then I can count, my journey from Halberstadt is finally over! I can see the city of Zebqatar spreading in front of me. The rutted path I’ve been following turns into a paved road as I pass through the gates. To my left is a large stone stele commemorating a victory against the Cumanian invaders. To my right is a multi-storied granite victory tower, festooned with colorful red and yellow banners. Bihjan, my traveling companion and one of the town’s most influential merchants, tells me the tower was raised to praise God for giving the citizens of the city the strength to defeat the marauders from the Seljuk Empire three hundred years earlier. A smile crosses his visage, making his long mustache rise above his collar.

“Look, my friend!” he calls to me running excitedly ahead. “The city has grown so much, since I left ten years ago. Follow me to the Town Hall so you can register, and then we will go to my home to celebrate my return.”

Walking through the merchant quarter towards the town hall, I am incredulous at the wealth and power displayed in the city. The open air vats of the dye works are filled with colors brighter than the feathers of a peacock. Were the carmine and cerulean oils real or did they just reflect the setting sun in the sky? Bihjan waves me over to a building and yells over a loud humming sound. “Magnus, you must taste the nectar of the honey bee! Only honey made from the poppy can please both the tongue and the mind”. He grabs a honey comb, passes it to me and throws some coin at the beekeeper. As the town hall appears in the distance, I think to myself, “Truly this honey is magical! It has opened up my mind to sights I have never before seen.”

Are we near the sea? A whirring sound in front of me explains why the air reminds me of the salted fish traded in the Halberstadt market. A salt merchant is busy producing salt in the building ahead by flowing salt water through a wheel and letting the warm dry air surrounding us extract the salt. Bihjan thinks this is a good opportunity to tell me about Zebqatar’s history. “Our people have lived in this valley for longer than our current empire. We learned to make salt from the Romans. While they lived among us they paid their soldiers with salt.” He laughs. “Salt! Now we must pay our soldiers in gold.

A man listening to Bihjan as we walked pass yells to us. “It is good we pay in gold. Otherwise I would be without work”. I look over my shoulder as he speaks, and saw a large burly man, naked from the waist up covered in sweat. He is working with a metal richer in yellow than the honey still sticking in Bihjan’s moustache. “Gold runs the world”, the goldsmith yells after us. “And I run the gold smithy, so tell everyone that I am the most important person you have met”.

“Saint Eligius!” I mutter to myself. “Even the patron saint of goldsmiths would laugh at the hubris of this smith”.

Bihjan and I turn the corner and finally arrive at the town hall. It is a large dark grey stone building in an expansive courtyard. The splashing of a fountain cascading over the tiles in the courtyard mixes with the sounds of the merchants closing up their show for the evening. “Hurry”, Bihjan says to me and scurries through the front entrance. “The Pasha will be having dinner soon and his wife will be angry if your registration interrupts her cooking”. At the end of a long hallway, I hear the Pasha yelling orders. Bihjan runs up to him, prostrates himself and begs forgiveness for coming so late in the day. “Bihjan, is that you?” the Pasha bellows. “I thought you had died many years ago. Come to dinner with me and bring your friend. We can register him tomorrow”.

Bihjan and I follow the Pasha and his retinue outside. As we slowly walk to his house he proudly shows us various buildings and enterprises. “Here we cut the dark wood called ebony and sell it to all who prize its rich color. Here the weaving mills make cloth so soft that clouds are jealous and do not come near our city. The wheat in the fields of our farms rivals our gold in color and makes the finest bread. Scholars and learned men visit our academy and spend hours talking and thinking”. Seeing my tired yawn, the Pasha laughs. “Yes, school makes me yawn too. Now here is my house”.

We arrive at the Pasha’s mansion. His man servant opens the door and we go into a brightly lit anteroom. After removing our shoes, Bihjan and I go into a large dining room and have a delicious meal. The Pasha regales us with fine meats such as curried goat and roasted quail, all the while filling Bihjan in on the news from the trade caravans. We have a delicious desert made from pistachios mixed with honey and spices stuffed into flaky bread. After dinner, the Pasha and Bihjan sit by a large brass tank filled with water and burning leaves and breathe in a vapor through long pipes. They seem to enjoy this very much, but when they invite me to try, it feels to me that we have reached hell and the devil is forcing burning brimstone into my lungs. But my discomfort makes the Pasha and Bihjan laugh heartily so I guess no further entertainment is needed. The dizziness in my head and the fullness of my stomach make me wish for a soft bed. The Pasha has a servant show me to my bed room. I would write longer about my day but the long journey and the warm night air are slumber’s conspirators. I will end today’s story here and go to sleep.

Today I am looking forward to seeing more of this fabulous city. At first the day starts out as planned. I visit the cartographer. He is excited to hear about the trip from Haberstatd as he wants to correct his maps. I could see already that his maps show portions of the world that have only reached my ears as rumors. After spending an hour describing my journey, I beg off and after promising to return another day leave to have repairs made to my goods which had been damaged in transit.

My second stop is at the brass foundry. I explain how I needed to have tools made in brass in order that sparks would not be created when the tools are used. Zebqatar trades in the finest gun powders, but carrying them is hazardous as the smallest flame would mean the loss of my cargo. I next go to the cooperage to have barrels made to carry the Zebqatar wares for my trip back to Halberstadt.

As I am about to stop at the vineyard and the brewery to trade for wine and beer, I hear horns blaring from the watch fires around the edges of the city. Alarms are raised. Bihjan tells me the city is under attack from the neighboring city of Syrinx! I am amazed at how fast the soldiers gather to battle the attacking force. Surely they must practice constantly to be able to counter the enemy so quickly. The great sword warriors rush out of their barracks and into the woods where they have an advantage over the horsemen galloping towards the city walls. Longbow archers line the battlements, and barrages of arrows against the heavily armored warriors slow their advance. Cannons add their booming to the din of clashing metal and piercing screams. A group of imperial guards with long pikes runs pass me to give aid to the defenders trying to keep the invaders from entering through a city gate. Even a few rogues join the fray, appearing to become any soldier they wish by stealing weapons from the wounded and quickly striking the confused enemy soldiers. Suddenly a loud roar erupts from the citizens of the city. The Champion has been spotted riding to battle the general of the attacking army. The Zebqatar soldiers add their cheers to those of the city and redouble their slashing, stabbing and spearing. The enemy general falls! The soldiers of the Syrinx army throw down their shields and weapons, turn and retreat in haste.

In my excitement to chronicle the battle I have lost track of all time. But as the smoke clears and the victorious army marches back into the city, I realize the day is over. Along with Bihjan, I make my way back to the Pasha’s mansion where I find him and his servants celebrating the great victory. “Marcus! Join us and share in the joy of our besting the enemy”, crows the Pasha.” Tomorrow I am going to Syrinx to negotiate their surrender. I will demand many fine gifts and wares as retribution for the harm they have tried to inflict on our city. You should come as well. Perhaps you will be able to find items you can bring home!” I agree that seeing Syrinx and getting more goods to trade back in Halberstadt is a fine idea. Since Syrinx is on the route back to my home city, I will pack up all of my goods tomorrow and set off for Syrinx with the Pasha. I will be sad to leave the splendid city of Zebqatar, but the thought of eventually seeing my family and friends as well as making a handsome profit from my journey, give me solace. Tomorrow is another day of adventure!

As time began things were handed down to me. Great measurable things. First thing ever; a great giant tree next to the lowest spot of creek. Resources became a way of life to my tribe, to the world for that matter. Smoldering pots of metal, cool drinks of water, not much, but enough for the kingdom to say I helped. Helping got truth and truth freed the land that surrounds Inch Deep Creek. Truth led to trust and when you had the trust then you had the ability to be let go and take up deed. From little straw huts at first, to now, where we have made it to the "High", long past short time. Of course the future will always grow higher but as we see fit we have many many many defined arts. Food, drink, quarters, laws, weapons. We gather and we gather, and we also increase each other by teaching. Our love for ourselves has risen, we find peace and we find war. The times; punishment our name for our past, love our name of the time now, soul a name for what is to come. Our army, although no larger than any army in Korch, is experienced and gains strength every passing cord. Even when we have skirmishes with our neighbors, the great friends and little friends give us hope for a non-war era. Even then we would need to guard so there is much pride put into training and developing our Great Army. The great challenge that we face is the size of the guild Skipping Stone, although we have done well with it small. Our time will come, either by negotiation, or force, to span the whole world. Our finest art is of course our music. Make your way into Inch Deep Creek and we will surely please you. Wonderful things come and go, but for now we are happy with our little spot away from our beginnings and some day we know our friendships will bring the best to our city. When you see the torches glowing and the great music puts a little pep into your step make sure you stop in to say hi, we love to hold onto new hope. May you always have a part of our contribution to the great land of Korch. Od orD.
