FoE Soccer Cup event feedback

DeletedUser26264

Don't know about you all, but my guildies and I think this event is HORRIBLE.

In my opinion: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or DIAMONDS on this event.

Unlike the Easter event - this event is for those who like to gamble. And trust me, like a casino, house always wins.

The ONLY thing I like about it is the extra quests. Not for the retarded reward, but because it gives me more things to do in game.

Maximum poor thinkery. You created a forum account to post this drivel?

Must be nice to be in a guild where you all think alike and can communicate so quickly. Hell I can't get half my guild to respond to free FPs.

Gambling? Pfft. You have the opportunity to earn approx 800 shots. Use those on the sure bet. 8000 Cups will buy a few nice prizes. Watchfire was 400 cups. Would you like 20 Watchfires?

Funny how things change, everyone hated the 2016 EastereEvent when it started. And yet a few months later...

You're doing quests to accumulate Shots in an Event you think is a waste of time? Whatever.

Well, my impression is that Inno pays quite a bit of attention to how many people participate in an event, and not so much attention to what people complain about on the forum. So I guess the best thing to do if you don't like the event is to not participate in it.

As usual, Jaelis cuts to the heart of the matter. If you don't like it, don't participate. If enough people do that, it sends a message.

And Algona is completely correct. It took me nearly 3 weeks of saving, then waiting for the Rogue Hideout to come up again for 5000 cups, but I got it. Between what you get on the bar and the quests, you can get some really nice stuff if you plan and save, without taking a chance or spending diamonds. Your choice.

Isn't one of the RULES of the forums: not to disrespect peoples posts?
You could have just stated it like Ylisaveta did instead you went totally negative. I'm pretty new to this game and learning about the forums just now. Nothing like a bad experience the first go around.

Look, Ace, you keep being wrong.

No, there is no rule against telling someone the substance of their post is awful. Or even calling it a large steaming pile of festering bull dooky. Does doing such make me an equus asinus? Nolo contendere. And I'm OK with that.

I was not totally negative, I told you exactly how to profit from this Event and eliminate the gambling aspect you don't like. You're welcome for that advice.

If you are pretty new to the game, maybe instead of telling people what they should be doing or thinking, you should be asking what you are missing?

You had a bad experience the first time around so you called out the person that gave you that bad experience. More poor thinkery.

Seriously, Ace, think before you post.

While I have my problems with the event (and a suggestion below to spice things up a bit), I look at it this way: the event has not, so far, required me to do anything that I would not already do in the course of playing the game in order not only to 'earn' shots via the passage of time but also 'earn' shot packages (with the possible exception of buying forge points- I don't do that all that often). So, for me anyway, it's basically "Free Stuff!". I don't know about anyone else, but I like Free Stuff.

I've not been particularly lucky, but it appears that I might be able to earn 2 SoK per server over the entire run of the event, and, considering they cost me nothing but time, that's not a bad reward at all.

My one suggestion: I would like to see the cup rewards increased based on whoever in the 'hood, rather than just me, is attempting the shot. So if ten folks are trying the 5% shot at roughly the same time, the award counter increases much more rapidly than if the increase is based on just your own attempts.

My understanding is that the award counter is supposed to increase when anyone in your hood takes a shot (and misses, it resets if they make it). I haven't seen that happen that often, but occasionally.

Isn't that exactly what happens now?

I believe the reason is a lot of the older members are using the 100% more often then any of the others.

I am not crazy about this event as far as I am concerned its too long and drawn out with the same old repetitive quests we see every event. But U can win a few decent prizes if patient enough.

Just to confirm, this is indeed how it currently works.

Will there be a Renovation Kit as a prize in the Soccer Event? If so, how much will it cost.
Will there be a Summer Event like last year?

Summer Event in August is the rumor from the latest changelog. See the announcements Forum.

I dunno if Reno will be out there. SoK, WW, HoF, all seem to be 6250, so that seems the max. Watchfire was 400. Your guess on where RK will fall. I guess 1424.78

FOE is demanding a lot for prizes in the soccer event. 6000 is asking a lot for SoK, WW, HoF. it will take you the entire event to get that.

That's why Christmas Event is the sweet spot to get those prizes that are too high in Soccer Event. SOK, HOF, WW, and Revo Kit all are cheaper and you can get as much you can at Christmas. Soccer Event appeared to be a good deal for Watchfires, Medals package for expansions, and Victory towers.

I'm playing on two servers, and I have a rogue's hideout on both, plus a watchfire and several victory towers each. I've earned about 3k more on one server than the other. I have not been particularly lucky, I am just running the odds. I pay attention to the expected value of each shot. The expected value of the 100% shot is always 10 cups. The others vary. When the 20% shot is 50 then it is 10 cups, too, and so is the 10% shot when it is 100, and the 5% shot when it is 200. When the 5% shot is 400 then the expected value is 20 cups, so it is good deal. In general, I take the shot with the highest expected value, and I try to save shots for higher expected value. When the expected value is 20 cups, I take a lot of shots, and start using the packages.

There must be a scheme to improve the odds even more by teaming with someone. I think that if two people are both playing on the same shot at the same time, the expected value will be higher because each is boosting the score. Yes, one will win and the other will lose, but losing is the same as running out of balls and having to start again later. I've never arranged to do this, but I've noticed that when the score on the 5% shot gets high (400 or better) then other people will probably be playing it at the same time as I am.
