Summer Event 2017 Feedback

DeletedUser29055

I know they are not reading this but I don't like that I am stuck with the same neighborhood for 4 weeks in a row.

Set up the events right after a neighborhood change, not right before one.
I think they did this. On Monday the neighborhood changed, on Wednesday the event started ...

Good job Inno, you put quest 11 of Questline two 4 days into GE which has the option "Scout a Province OR Complete Level 1 in GE", yeah okay we could wait four days if we wanted to use the option but really c'mon:rolleyes:
I noticed that as well but I too assumed it would auto complete, here's hoping.

I believe they removed SoK's from the wheels. They had them there the first or second day, whenever their sale was but since then I have not seen them once since and have been compulsively checking the wheel and reading the scrolls if I missed one.

If that is the case it strikes me as misleading, having people spend tickets to refresh the wheel looking for something there's no possibility of being there.

Has anyone seen one since the first 1-3 days?

I definitely think the stop button has an impact. While I don't always land on what I thought I hit stop on I am usually only a slot or 2 away. if it were random I'd find myself on the other half of the wheel 1/2 the time.

You can move a set without resetting the timers. Just takes a little extra planning. Set up the spot where you want to move them to an put down a piece of Stone Age Trail in the spots where each building will go. Move the first building and swap it for the trail and then swap the trail for the next building. Repeat until all buildings are moved. Since you are always holding something until all the moves are done the game considers it all the same 'move' action and the set is complete once you finish it. I tried this and it works.
Every time you post I become more and more assured that you are the FoE genius. That's brilliant.

This event seems incredibly long. I don't remember it getting so boring so fast last year. Holding on to tickets and waiting is what most consider boring during the winter event, summer was supposed to be non stop possibilities since the prize changes but it just doesn't seem that way. Looking at the lack of SoKs and knowing their wont be HoFs I'm not seeing a real reason to keep checking the wheel and just blow it off till the last few days when there might be something good.

Boost packs and store buildings to me are much more worthless than the coins/supplies. Even the FP rewards seem low.. 20 is gold? 100 is gold in GE.

Overall there just doesn't seem as though there's much worth going for. Waiting around for them to put something decent as a prize isn't really in keeping with the casino format when in actuality you have 0 chance of getting what you're trying to win.

The set building is good if you plot them wisely. With the amount of time for this even and their over representation on the wheels it should be easy for anyone to get the sets or multiples if they desire.

Nope...

Neighborhood changed 6/19
Event started 6/28 (day 9 of the 14 day cycle)
Neighborhood should have changed 7/3 but didn't.

Yes, I play on 23 cities and have seen it many times but it's like I mentioned in another comment I got a big spender in my hood on Xyr and seen the wheel refreshed over 50 times in a row and not see it come up til like the 52nd but then I've had times where I refreshed the wheel like 12 times and seen it come up three times.

Great to know thank you!

btw that pic up there I did just now on an alt world, refreshed 12 times and ran out of tickets right as it came up but going for WW anyway so it's okay, someone else will be happy.
That's funny I've seen a rare-but constant throughout the event- presence of WWs but no SoKs since the first days. Maybe the game knows whats in our heads and uses it to toy with us.

Good post, Dantes.

Yes. Hell, yes. PLEASE! For the salvation of the souls of all the damned.

I kinda like it. Gives me a great idea of how many folk are playing and helps me figure out the best time to go on my one big spin spree.

And it lets you know when they are on and collecting, so you can plan your plundering accordingly. ;)

I'm already bored with this event, I received all the special buildings from the wheel so I don't see any sense in finishing the quests for multiple buildings.

Also as far as the wheel is concerned, for silver and gold items they should disappear for you if you win one but not for the whole hood.

Also, the items on the wheel suck since gold and silver items disappear very quickly in a hood of 70+ and the green items, well they should be higher value not stuff that is going to sit in my inventory forever.

Since I just entered FE and am not researching it for a few months then green items should be from my era or above but I suppose that could be a programming problem for hoodies that are in lower eras. I don't know, just waiting for this event to end. I do refresh the wheel for my hood to help them get silver and gold items but if it's not a SOK which there is only 1 for 70+ folks, it's just silly.

Would love to see HOF's and expansions on the wheel though, I would go nuts trying to get either lol.

I've seen SOKs throughout the event. Got one in each world and saw neighborhoods getting them or grayed out. Not many, but they are out there.

With the hood change, my bad memory :) ... I am lucky that I am in a good neighborhood at the moment, so I do not mind being in there for a few weeks.

Thanks, but I can't take credit for this one. Someone else posted it first. Think it was on the Beta Forum.

As far as I'm concerned this Summer Event is okay. Not great, but okay. My plan for Summer was to go for Reno Kits and I was going to buy the largest diamond package on the world where I need them most. I was also considering buying one on a 2nd world as well. That's out the window now. The Gold prize return just doesn't justify the expense. Saved myself some money. :D

If you can check multiple times a day you can find good wheels. So far I've gotten 3 Reno Kits, 2 SoKs, a couple of premium buildings plus a few other things that I wanted but don't specifically remember right now. I also have the two missing parts to the Palace set on every world. That's like winning 6 Soks. Sure it's 8 squares larger than 6 Soks but those 8 squares give you coin, supply, medals, happiness and 10 goods/day. Well worth it.

After winning all that I still have 20-30 tickets left on every world. I'll just keep watching the wheels and take what I can get. Have no interest in the Fountain set. The only bonus I really want is the attack bonus and can always put down some Strike Team Centers for that.

Sure, you can't win 20 Soks, Rogue Hideouts or Wishing Wells without a HUGE amount of luck or spending a bunch of money but you can get plenty of good stuff. I don't miss the coin & supply prizes AT ALL and think that the general quality of 'other' prizes is better than the last two years. Sure, there are no barracks but with troops from GE that's less of an issue.

You were absolutely right! I noticed that my hood wasn't refreshing the wheel as often as you mentioned, the same wheel sat for hours and hours. Even when I looked at the scroll though people were spending tickets, very rarely was it a refresh.

Since I hadn't seen an SoK in days and estimated we'd only gone through maybe 40 wheels since then I used almost all my tickets refreshing over and over, took another 14 wheels and finally SoK. I had 3 tickets left and I got it on my very last one.

Thank you for that tip!

It seems the percentages are so low that you have to use a lot of tickets on the refresh to get what you want. When I was going for the palace sets I just waited for them to come up, only refreshing the wheel once at a time occasionally and had no problem getting multiples as pieces were on just about every wheel. Great to know SoKs are still there, makes the event seem less boring.

DeletedUser20367

I figure that I can always refresh on the last day or so. Playing the waiting game until then.

Elephant Fountain set isn't really worth having, it's too large to justify the attack boost and gives out too few fps.

I'm happy with the palace set though. Won a set off the wheel, and managed to win enough decos that I can have another set with event rewards. Considering getting rid of supply production to put it up. Probably will.

DeletedUser28897

Elephant set is great for far end game for the coin and attack boost. One elephant set is 3 lvls of st marks and you can chain them together like the maharaja set. I don't need any happiness at all but that set also provides a large amount.

On F world, I've gotten 3 SoK, a 1-up kit, the Fountain set, all of the smaller parts of the Palace set, a set of 5 PME production buildings before I could unlock them, and accidentally won a Rouge Hideout in an effort to win the last Fountain Set piece.

Zero Tickets.

On Parkog, I've only gotten a couple 1-ups, a fishing hut, an assortment of FPs, a premium house and a bunch of ticket spots and actually pulled a Palace off of refreshing the wheel, even though I don't need it. (Why can't I find a freaking oasis?)

At 22 tickets currently.
