Winter Event 2018

Curious if they will actually give premium buildings in the gift boxes. Giving us the regular buildings that a lot of us already have tons of in inventory and could get a thousand times over with all the supply and coin we have is just frustrating. I get gearing events to newer players but don't forget those of us who have been around for years. My overall feeling is apathy....I'm pretty burnt out on all these events and I've played long enough that most of the stuff offered is of no interest to me and is certainly not needed but that's about all I'm gonna say on that since they don't really care about your feedback anyways unless it's what they want to hear.

I recently saw a suggestion that someone should advance an era to get higher level buildings from this event. Just to be sure, wouldn't you get that if you advanced after the event started, for those buildings you acquired after you advanced?

When you acquire an event building, it will be of the age you're in at the time you acquire it.

Any word if we’ll have to acquire one or two provinces for this event? The beta quest line up makes it look like two.
Looks like it is down to one province and scout another--this one has no other option and may prove a speed bump for some players since the Daily Challenge can push you far ahead if you don't skip the sector DC at times.

Your feedback is always very important for us, so don't forget to comment here!

Thank you for playing Forge of Empires!

Yours,
The Forge of Empires Beta Team
It sounds really good. I'll look forward to upgrading some of my watch fires and victory towers.
I'm not keen on the onion domes on the buildings -- but that's just me. I'm hoping to add the sleigh building beside my reindeer paddock and Santa's workshop.
This business of fragments of a building -- Yeuch. Carats towards diamonds, now, that would appeal.
But, overall, I do enjoy opening the Christmas boxes each year. Thank you for the work and the entertainment.

"Always Winter but never Christmas."

Most games and social activities usually avoid Christmas as it can cause religious conflict, but what really gets me is that they then contradict that notion by throwing in Halloween which is not a religion per se, but more of a belief , yet falls under the same topic. For me it's all part of this unfortunate "Political Correctness" BS, however I do understand and accept the reasoning for most of it.

Christmas doesn't cause religious conflict, hate-filled people do. It annoys me when "most games and social activities" appease bigots. And it's not like they've never heard of Christmas before. And it's not like it isn't already Christmas anyway - just look at the announcement video: reindeer, elves, wrapped presents, decorated trees, Santa Claus, etc. It *IS* the Christmas event, so why not call it the Christmas Event? No one who isn't offended by the Christmas references that are already there is going to be offended by the word "Christmas", unless they're extremely stupid and filled with hate. And why cater to such people?

And BTW, it's not just Halloween, they also do Valentine's Day events. In case you didn't know, that's *Saint* Valentine's Day.

Halloween was just an example and in no way meant to exclude any other event(s).
I agree with you 100%, but you need to understand what Christmas is... Nowhere in the event (unless I missed it somehow of which I will then retract the following) does it mention that it is based on "The Birth of Christ".

What do Santa Claus, Reindeer, Decorated Trees, or Elves have to do with "The Birth of Christ"?

*** Additional ***

The Game Rules also state the following...

"InnoGames does not accept any publications that the Forge of Empires Team considers illegal, insulting, offensive, threatening, abusive, real-life-aggressive, sexually explicit, pornographic (including, but not limited to drawings and animations), profanity, politically extreme, religiously fanatic, endangering youth, racist, playing down the use of illegal drugs or alcohol, or promoting the use of said substances or in any way inappropriate. Posting links to such content is also not allowed."

So why would they go and break their own Rules!?

I don't think it's a matter of causing offense so much as it is wanting to be inclusive. Nothing wrong with that. This game is a global one, there are players from all walks of life.

but I figure it never hurts to ask questions.

It depends on who's answering... Clearly you haven't been in the forums long enough to notice the backlash.
Enjoy and take every backlash with a pinch of salt. I tend to take the whole bag. Lol.
Have Fun!! :D

I'm having FoE-buying withdrawal. I think this is the first time all year that we've got an event and I'm not buying the $200-bonus-event-currency option on my main world. I want to; there's just nothing worth buying in this event :(
