Plunder progress

DeletedUser34548

Well, I'm new and... somewhat Swiss in my worldview... so I haven't plundered anybody. I may as well tell the one story I have about being attacked.

I did not notice this until I was poking around in event log looking for dead friends to cut. Replay... certainly. I watched a ragtag, injured EMA band straggle onto the field, face my well-oiled Iron, and leave without closing to arms.

Scouting, I thought.

So I sent him a note thanking him for his visit; and invited him to return, preferably for ale. Sure enough, he's back... at table.

:D

Scouting, probably.
I do that, mainly to satisfy quest missions that say something like, "Win 5 Battles", I'll start at the bottom of the hood and work my way up attacking then retreating till I find the ones that only have 2 defending units then attack for the win and proceed to the next one

Guy in one of my hoods who had attacked me and didn't change up his defenses once I figured out how to beat it with no losses now has a city shield up. Should I consider it a victory that he's gone from calling me weak to hiding behind a shield? or should I be mad that I lost my source of fp's?

Edit: Apparently he just had a death in the family and so he put up the shield because he won't be online as often.

Yeah, that’s why I don’t use it. I’m a proud plunderer but I don’t put out adverts

Seems the plunder part of the game is a frequent form of complaints and proposals to change the system. I am sure there are many others like me who are satisfied with the current system. Please post your progress and reasoning for why and what you plunder. If you don't plunder please don't add to the thread. There are many other threads started that you can add your complaints and criticism to.

  • If a neighbor aids, I aid back. No help from them means they are open game to attack/plunder.
  • I look for goods I can use first. Then event buildings or HoF's. I rarely take coin or supplies unless it is a revenge attack.
  • 2 spearfighter or other weak defense and I will take anything I can.
  • I use up my Voyager bonus first on the advanced ages and then go back within 24 hours for the lower age goods.
  • I try to make a friend in the hood who also plunders and message each other when goods are up.
  • Lastly, I figure if I don't take the goods someone else will.
I plunder if:
1: I have a quest that requires me to.
2: They only have 1 to 3 troops defending their city.
3: If I've got a quest that ask me to gather/collect a certain amount of goods/supplies/coins to get get it quicker.
What I plunder varies, but it's usually either goods or supplies.

That's a mighty fine target you've just put up.

That's true, the Outlaw achievement doesn't stop me from attacking a player. And I show mine off as well. I get people trying to take a piece of me, but only the best succeed. There's about a half dozen people in the current hood who've tried taking me, some are probably retaliations, but none have succeeded. It's just making my Great Wall bigger.

Surely 3 is a lame reason - trading would be a million times quicker. (for goods at least)

I agree there, trading is far more reliable especially when people trade in large quantities. It's hard to fill event requirements when people produce inefficient crap.

You know I enjoy these stories of plunder and all, but I can't help but laugh when some fool plunders me during an Event or a DC. Congrats on getting that whopping 5-minute production! :D

I think I screwed a guy out of a DC by plundering one of his 5 minute productions, he sent me some pretty nasty messages afterwards. Only reason I can think of that much reaction over 5 supplies is if he didn't have enough time to do another 5 minute production before his DC ran out. I really enjoyed that one.

I was told earlier in the week that one of my plunders made the that guy unable to finish the event. I'm guessing he was running a bit behind and it was that quest of 'finish each production once'
So yeah, it can happen that we plunderers don't get much. But for the ones who don't have any spare productions it's a double-edged sword.
