Spring Event - The Cherry Blossom Festival Feedback

There is a comment on a popup if you go to move a piece that if the set bonus of a building changes, it resets the timer. I suppose this is an anti-abuse method to keep you from just moving pieces to the one ready to collect if you don't have equal numbers of each piece in the set.

I have no pop-up (possibly suppressed it) but can't find anywhere to turn it back on in the settings.

Without getting into Techo Gobbly-Gook...
If you don't have all the pieces, you won't be able to 'cheat the system' by moving stuff around.

It's to prevent abuse.

Are you Browser or Mobile, I get this message on Browser if I am in Build/Move mode and click on a Cherry Set Building to begin to move it.

DeletedUser25273

There is a checkbox on the dialog to stop it from giving the warning again, wonder if you clicked that. The box is titled "Move Set Building"

Just in time for the new Daily Prize.

Looks like they're running through the set again so people can get two Cherry Blossom Sets.
Expect the Gong to show up.
Plan for that possibility.

Here's where I'm at with the Bonus Quests.

heres where im at on the quests.png

One nice thing about Contemporary Era, are the small Cultural buildings.
2X4
First one was free and from the G.E.

one cultural of my era from GE.png

Needed some room so I sold two sections of my 2X2 road.

sold two sections of road.png

Then moved 8 Watchfires to the new, temporary empty space.

moved some stuff around.png

Placed on Zen Garden, sold it, placed another, then sold it again.

placed.png

I put everything back the way it was before, spent some Fps.

put everything back.png

Then completed the Bonus Quest.

finished.png

That's how I get around the needing empty space requirement.
I figure out how much room I need.
Then pick something [or somethings] to sell then replace afterwards.

Gold Chests.

"A strange game. It seems the only winning move is not to play."

Thank you, Joshua, for summing it up so nicely. I have 4 of the 5 Cherry Garden buildings on 2 of my worlds, and 3 on another. Now, here's my dilemma: If I jump at the buildings I usually go for in events--you know, your SoKs, Wishing Wells, Rogues Hideouts--I lose lanterns, and won't have any to spend on that coveted last building when it comes up. So I sit there, not redeeming lanterns until it does. And when it DOES, I redeem them all--and get motivation boxes or medals, but NOT, definitely NOT that last building. By coinky-dink, or by design, I wonder? In any case, the best chance at getting the set is to sit--and not open the chests for days.

But what happens when near the end of the event, and I STILL don't have the building? I'm betting that Inno will have a way for me to buy lots of lanterns with actual money (not faulting them--it's literally their job to separate me willingly from my money) in order to get that one last shot.

Or, I could opt out, spend my money at a minor league baseball game, and not worry about the Garden set. I call keeping my money in the face of odds which are openly declared to be against me should I do otherwise a "win."

Unless Inno has plans to make these set components available in a less chance-based manner, the only winning move is not to play.

Gold Chests.
You discount the fact that the odds are AGAINST people getting the Daily Prize even if they only open gold chests. I have ONLY opened gold chests ONLY on days when the daily prize is a part of the cherry garden set which I do not have, and I have not completed the set on any world I'm playing. I am either one or two buildings short on each world. I don't think they are giving players the opportunity to win multiple sets so much as recognizing that the odds are, in every case, against the player getting the components he needs.

Though I'm sure there will be many opportunities to buy lantern/diamond bundles.

I bought lanterns for this event, from Diamonds I already had.
Inno is a business and we use their products.
Business do their thing to make profit.
Been that way since the first, oldest profession.

I understand how you feel, but Inno needs to make money or they go out of business.

So according to wiki, the bonus quest for today should be "scout a province" but they changed it to "build 2 cultural buildings". Will the "scout a province" still apear until the end of the event? I want to know if I can open the map or hold it just in case.

DeletedUser28897

I'm holding out for the entrance but locked down 4/5 of the pieces. Also picked up 2 soks and a champ retreat. Overall this has been a solid event, certainly not the misery some people here think it is. I'm thinking winter>>summer>>>>spring>fall.

I completely didn't notice that.

Hold onto it if possible.
Always better safe than sorry.

I'm not winning almost 30 SoKs like last year's Casino.
To me, this event isn't about getting bulk.
It's about the Gorgeous Cherry Blossom Set.

Unless you are on World Boss Victorro's level...

I will gain 270 fp, fight boost, city defense and goods per day along with a bunch of coins supply and medals. City will make about 610-625 fp per day.

images (5).jpg

Then you have The Best of Both Worlds.

I think the second scout requirement is supposed to be tomorrow. I think the wiki might have missed a quest, but I'd have to double check.

On another note, I've opened 2 more gold chests so far to gain another Store Building kit and, much to my surprise, the pond. Now I'm in a bit of a delema; I'm one piece shy of a full set, the last of which is likely to cycle again tomorrow possibly for the last time, but won't have enough lanterns to buy another chest. On the one hand it is enticing to think that I might get the full set if I drop enough diamonds, but with only 1 out of 9 chests opened successfully giving me the daily special that 25% chance is not likely to go in my favor. Sadly my imaginary accountant says no to a cash injection due to those odds....sensible jerk...

You've got to spend about a thousand bucks to get the full set and see those images in your city on your computer screen.

I'm not gonna speculate or put words in their mouths about their wallets.
I can talk about what I've done.
Safe to say, it's a considerable investment, no matter how one looks at it.

Featuring ExecDude's city again.

Just try to imagine the amount of items in his inventory he's not going to use.

I haven't spent any RL $, I have spent 600 diamonds I had acquired through the game.

The first 400 was wasted on gold chests....then I started getting only bronze with getting silver only after winning 70 lanterns from the bronze....the last 200 diamonds was used to get a bronze...which gave me another 70 lanterns and bought a silver chest.... each silver chest has given me a needed piece. ALL of which was done without spending any real life $$$.

I now have one whole complete set, and nearly another complete set...I could try for the pond but already have 2 of those so waiting to see if the gong pops up.

That would have to be the exception, not the rule

Quite possible but I can't figure out how to get it back. You'd think it would be in the settings...
