Forge Bowl Grand Prize Impossible to get with Out Diamonds.

Except that I'm sure that I'm not the only one who used to spend in these situations but no longer will...mostly because of heavy-handed tactics like this. And tripling the Ultimate Coach cost...and requiring cash instead of Diamonds for the bonus prize line.

Both very valid concerns, and expressions. Inno created FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) and that's masterful to generate revenue. Happens every time, in all walks of life.

I've prevously felt the same thing here that you have called out - wondering if the best strategy I could design would keep me in BRONZE, or would that rush we're now seeing make me slip out the bottom....

SO yes - a few times over a long playing career here, I financially "added" to the position to ensure I was represented the way I needed to be for the ultimate goal. I also got up a little early that morning to make sure it worked ...

All 8 cities in Bronze at the moment.
Out of 8 Cities, 4 made it to 1200 yds. 2 of the 4 that did not make it have the extra upgrade. The other 2 will need to hold Bronze or get more footballs from incidents.

Hopefully, we'll get a last freebie set of footballs tonight at midnight EST.

Went through and projected where each of my cities that tried the event will end up if I only used +1yd coach for my remaining balls (mostly not my main cities because I wasn't that pumped about the pergola at the start and the late buff wasn't enough to convince me to try on cities I hadn't already decided to - rather I had decided to get an ok building for some of my mine cities that were most in need of something better if I was going to advance them at some point)

J - Approx 1153 yds ; go for league
P - Approx 1200 yds ; go for league
R - Approx 1184 yds ; go for league
X - Approx 1196 yds ; go for league
B2 - Approx 1230 yds
C2 - Approx 1253 yds
D2 - Approx 1151 yds ; Took ultimate coach at one point for specials, so league is comfy ; also didn't take optimum players entirely because of other interests is a big part of why this one is finishing short of 1200.

It seems 1200 yards was "about average" in terms of luck with once a day login & incident collection and progress coach on the short plays.

I think I should get it done in all 7 though with judicious use of the league coach for some of the remaining balls. B2 & C2 might even get to use the special coach to finish up some of the last yards

This event is priced way above the last one when looking at buying the top buildings. The last one was 43$ CAD per Choco. This is 111$ CAD per Pizzaria , ummmm Inno , your whales most certainly are all very good at math and you're attempting to gouge them why ?

Christmas was cheap on grand prizes and moderately expensive on specials; Forge Bowl is expensive on grand prizes but cheap on specials (only wildlife has been cheaper).

Christmas was easier and cheaper to buy your way through it. This event rewards you less with the more money you spend (Re Ultimate frags) and absolute junk in the pay for box EXCEPT the upgrade kits.

But they balance events in different ways - some are great for specials ; some are great for grand prizes ; some aren't great for either. Forge Bowl is (and has been as long as the coaches have been there) an event that is ideal if you want a lot of daily specials. i.e. if the one thing you wanted in *any* event is sentinel outposts, today might be the day you break out your diamond bank to chase them. You won't get as many Pergolas as you might get a grand prize in another event when you broke out the diamonds - but you will get 2 to 3 times the sentinel outposts for the same amount of diamonds as an "average" event.

There are also certain events that are just a bad deal in every respect beyond taunting you with a prize you really really want Halloween has typically fit into that category, though they've made it a *little* more average with recent changes

Well, I got a fully upgraded main building in exactly one (1) city out of five (5). Missed out on Bronze League in one of my cities by 1 point/yard/whatever. Absolute crap. And I even spent 700 Diamonds last night in three cities to try to stay in Bronze. One of my cities I somehow managed to only get upgrades enough for 9 levels. And I'm tempted to sell that extra base building in the AD just so it won't sit there mocking me. Absolute crap that you can participate fully in the event, collect every Incident you see, use the Progress or League coach every time, pick the right player 90% of the time, and still miss out on the last upgrade. Absolute crap! Am I saying "absolute crap" too much?

Ah you see, the problem is that you didn't manage to get to 80 yards before the rebalancing. The route was there you just had to take it smh. Or even if not, why didn't you just spend the diamonds for the ultimate coach? You get them for free from GE!

Ended up spending some diamonds to complete. If I remained in bronze I could have made a complete building without diamonds but I was about 20 yards from falling out of bronze with several hours to go. Decided to play it safe and spent some diamonds. So I got a complete building. Of course, buying footballs also pushed my score higher and I barely scraped by staying in bronze. So I ended up with 1 extra upgrade. Had I not bought footballs I would have fallen out of bronze and missed a complete building by 1 upgrade. I suppose there's a certain irony there but mostly I wanna flip Inno a middle finger.

Well, out of my 4 cities, all 4 got the full building plus at least one more base. 3 ended up in Bronze, one in amateur, so the majority got at least one extra upgrade. I also managed to get a few SOs and other random stuff that was on my list. I spent no money and no diamonds on this one.

Was it close to the line on the main building? Yes - but from my experience it was absolutely possible to get the main event building without having to spend anything.

Fell 1 short on each of my 4 world and ended up with 2 lvl 1s in each which is a waste. If the 2nd lvl 1 had made it a choice award of lvl 1 or upgrade I and many others would have been fine.

The strategy of using the +1 coach is nice but you can’t use it every day without diamonds. You are also penalized in points if you don’t play daily. The constant need for diamonds or cash payment to get final event upgrade is wearing thin.

Before I forget, I also was only able to get 1 bronze award and 3 amateur league awards. In previous years I was always in the gold and silver leagues and this after playing daily and finishing all tasks.

It's not impossible, but it is narrow. There's two strategies that should work:

1) Always +1 progress coach, Always shortest player, 1200 yards requiring ~+600ish footballs from incidents.

2) Mostly +1 progress coach. Occasionally x2 league coach to finish in bronze league (say ~240-320 yards worth). Always shortest player. 1040 yards.

don't spend any footballs till you have 3-4+K saved up And use the best coach with diamonds I have saved up some for the event from my small Diamond Farms
And can get 250+ free footballs a day

The topic was on doing it *without* diamonds Yes using the ultimate coach was an easy solution - and lucrative if you wanted extra specials! I did that in one world for the extra specials

But it was possible without resorting to that as well - I finished on 6 worlds without diamonds - one of which had abysmal incident luck (like 100 balls from incidents) using the 2nd strategy I mentioned.

Had no fancy formula. simply played the event as it came. Finished in amateur League in all 3. Bought no diamonds, but got the main building fully up graded in my 3 cities.

Thanks. It's a bit infuriating to see people who were lucky enough (and yes, it was luck) enough to get a complete building without diamonds saying "Well, I was able to do it so anyone can. You must have done something wrong."

No, I did everything I was told I was supposed to do to get a complete building and still came up short without diamonds. The fact that Inno gave a 2nd base before all the upgrades were given should tell you that Inno is moving to a scheme which is intended to squeeze diamonds out of players through events. And that's a real change from past events. If you have to rely on getting into a certain league to get your last upgrade you can't legitimately claim that events don't require diamonds to get a full event building.

spent diamonds and still did not get full building... Waited and spent over 12000 footballs the last day, all using the ultimate coach. only 9 levels of the building. and finished in Bronze league. Ended up buying the ultimate coach multiple times in other worlds and didn't get it either? spent nearly 6000 diamonds across 5 worlds and didn't get a single full building. all were short roughly 2K-4k footballs. This is the first event ever not getting the full building. Looks like the only way to play is with more and more diamonds that are getting more and more expensive. FOE inflation is way higher than even the real world. If its down to luck, Mine has run out. done buying diamonds since they don't seem to help with my "Luck". When the frustration out weighs the fun of gamming, time to look for something fun to play and cut my losses and frustration.
